having a Doula? come on in

This is my first, and I am quite excited. In my research I came across an amazing lady that is a Doula. I knew I wanted one as well as a natural birth, or a natural as my body will let me. I booked her a few month back and am now excited to finally get to schedule our meetings and get this ball rolling.

Here is her website, take a look: www.sacralbirths.com

Anyone else having a Doula?

  • We're definitely thinking about a doula, but DH isn't 100% sure on it yet. GL with yours; her website is neat!

  • I am planning on it...I had one with my first child and it was AMAZING...though she was my friend and she did it for free I am hoping this time around I can find someone that is sweet an awesome but low in cost because we don't have much $$ to be throwing around but I know from experience it was VERY VERY helpful.

  • I definitely want a doula.  DH is awfully afraid of blood, needles, etc.  Once I had a procedure and he came back to see me while I was recovering.  He saw the IV being taken out, and got queasy - coulda fainted.  :p  I would rather have someone else there also - someone who will have their head on their shoulders, no matter what happens.  I am waiting a little longer to go through the process of finding one, but know there are many around.

  • Thanks ladies, yeah I am really excited to have Jonna in my corner! I thought it would be a hard sell for DH, but he basically said if I think I need it/want it bad enough then why not. I really only want DH, my sister and my Doula in the room with us, everyone else can wait in the waiting room. But then again, I might change my mind as it gets closer.
