When should I start looking into daycare? We have a daycare at work but I really don't think I will be able to get into it because of the waitlist. Do you guys prefer in home or center? I am really thinking center because I am only going to need it part time and the days will be changing weekly but I am not sure. What are your thoughts? Any recomendations for Northland childcare?
Re: Daycare ?'s
It is never too early to start looking. I know the child care center that I work at has a very long wait list as do many others that will offer the best care for your child. Also, something to think about. Many centers do not offer part time rates since there are so many families that need the full time and are willing to pay the full time, the center wants to keep those spots filled.
It sounds like for your needs a in-home center might be best. They are usually more flexible with your schedule if you dont want to pay a full time rate for part time care.
Hi there. I second with melissa on the part time facilities. Unless you want to pay for a full week & only go part time, I think that's all they'll offer.
DayCare Connection is a group that keeps a list of all licensed in home day cares. Give them a call for more info on day cares in your area. They'll also be able to give you current rates for your zip code

It is difficult to find places that do not have waitlists, so start looking now! We went the in-home route, and I was at a loss as to where to look. However, I found a website that gives resources and referrals in your area, and ended up finding our wonderful sitter that way. It gives you a list of names and phone numbers, so I just called people in my area (I used a reverse phone number look-up online to determine location), and found a couple that I interviewed. Best of luck to you. The website is: www.childcaresource.org
