when to take DC swimming?

I am wanting to go swimming so bad, and I'd love to take DS with me, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable subjecting his delicate skin to chlorine at such a young age. I'm going to wait until the end of the month and ask my dr. about it since DS has baby acne and some dry skin/eczema issues right now.
When would you consider it a 'safe' age to take baby to a public pool?

My ped told me to wait until DS was 6 months to start him with swim lessons.

i took DD in the pool last week for the first time. they say to wait until 6 months... but i gave her a good rinse in the shower after... and then gave her bath when we got home, of course. she loved it and her skin is totally fine.

I think 3 mos would be safe too. I can't wait to take him! he loves his bath so much.

I wouldn't have been comfortable taking ds until he was at least 6 months. They have such absorbent skin that I wouldn't want him in all the pool chemicals. I'm hoping to find a mommy and me swim program around here soon.

I'm planning to go to a mommy and me program too when DD is 6 months old. There's several pools in our area that offer it.
