I asked this a few weeks ago and already don't remember!
For some reason I believe 150 and under means boy and then 150 and over means girl (supposedly). But you seem to be pretty close to that line in that case!
I'm going to check back and see if anyone else is more confident on it to refresh my memory too!

I did this and got girl! I'm super-curious to see if this is true because I have thought it was a girl since I got my BFP and initially DH said girl as well (but now he's thinking boy of course lol).

That website has been right for me all four times I've done it. The 140 heartrate is really low, especially early. If you're looking after 6 months, it seems more correct. But babies always have a higher heartrate early on...really for the first few months. So that 140 thing REALLy doesn't hold up early on.
The Chinese Gender Chart is a bunch of crap though. The heart rate thing doesn't seem all that accurate, but the CGC is just ridiculous...

Our first child was a girl and her hbs always were high usually above 160. This one on the first us clocked in at 174. I told my husband he better get thinking of girls names because he is really wanting a boy
I honestly don't know if it makes a difference, there is lots of reasons that at the second they check it the little ones hbs might be a little faster of slower depending how you are.
Re: So what is the old wives tale about the heartbeat again?
Slower heartbeat = boy
Faster heartbeat = girl

140 and lower = boy, 140 and higher = girl. I guess 140 is limbo hehe!
Just lurking over here...but here's a website that adjusts for the average heart rate for that certain gestation.
For yours, it came up boy!!

I've heard the heartbeat twice.
Once at 7 weeks (142). Once at 12 weeks (162). I ran both on the website and got two different genders. I'm going with the wives tale of 140+.
Thanks for posting this! How fun. It said boy for me both times.

Love that website! It gave me "boy" for our last heartbeat. Now I have two OWTs saying girl, one that says boy.
Girl: Chinese Gender Chart and morning sickness
Boy: Heart rate
We will see which ones are right
