I had my 1st membrane sweeping at my appt today since MW said I was "favorable" (2cm, 80%, -2). I haven't had any cramping/discharge...nothing. Has anyone else had their membranes swept and had no after effects?
Ok and now here's the really silly question: do you think the lack of cramping, etc. means the sweeping is less likely to bring on labor?
Re: No cramping after membrane sweep?
Unfortunately, this is a really hit-or-miss kind of procedure. Even if you HAD cramping, it may not mean anything.
I was 3cm, 60% on Wednesday when I had it done at 10:30am. I had cramping and irregular contractions for a solid 8 hours.
It's now 9pm on Friday, and I'm still pregnant!

I did not have cramping after mine, but I started contractions about 14 hours later.
Generally they say if it's going to work, you'll be in labor within 24... or is it 48 hours?
