1- DS just spit up on his play mat... and all I did was wipe his face and the mat and call it good. No attacking the mat with Lysol wipes, no wet wipes for his face. Just the burp cloth.

2- My vacation time for the end of this month has just been approved, and now I'm dreading going home. DH, DS and I don't normally hit the hay until 2 am because of the hours I work... and pretty much all of my family and H's are going to be up and ready for the day by 8 am. FML. I'm going to lose so much sleep that week it's ridiculous.

erm, #1 happens on a regular basis here. I am supposed to attack with Lysol? lol. I promise my kid isn't dirty, but I don't use wet wipes every time or anything.

    This.  Lysol???  Really?!

    And BUFFY - RECIPE!!!

Well, most of the time it's a huge spit-up, like more then a dollar-coin amount, and his mat has plastic underneath. I don't mind a bit of slobber on the mat, but formula-chunks are kinda gross. :

My FFFC: I left my kid in the car (sleeping) while I went in to the liquor store and bought 3 flats (ie. 72 cans) of beer. Hey, the car seat and the beer wouldn't both fit in the cart.

You're lucky you didn't have the cops called on you, or something worse happen.

Uh, yeah. I would have called them if I saw your baby in the car alone in a parking lot. Holy crap.

It was literally two minutes. Since this is supposed to be flame free, I dont really feel I should have to defend myself but: She was sleeping, it wasn't hot (or cold, for that matter), doors were locked, window was cracked, it was in our own (very safe) neighbourhood.... Would you feel differently if I ran in to the ATM or stepped out of the car to get the mail or something? Babies go unsupervised for short periods of time all the time. What's the difference if it's in the car or in the play pen? Obviously I would never leave her in there for more than 2 minutes.

  • I am going to a bachelorette party tomorrow night. Was really looking forward to a rager. It's been a LONNNNNG time since I had a good night out.

Just found out the guest of honor and MOH quit drinking months ago. I am disappointed. Because I think it just knocked down the level of fun of the party, to be honest. And I'm not a big drinker by any means.

  • I paint my kids toe nails. Yes, even the baby. Yes, even though he's a boy. And no, I'm not even using the organic piggy stuff.

The days at home are long. Really, really long. Indifferent

I have a really big flame-worthy confession. I just want to preface it with I know my DH is amazing and he would do anything for us but....I am secretly upset at him for not making enough money to support DD and me so I can stay at home with her. I love him very much and he does amazing things for DD and I but I just wish, I could stay at home.

ETA: I would never admit this to DH because I know how bratty I am being right now. He really is truly amazing and I wouldn't know what I would do without him.

Is there anything you could do to be able to live on his salary?  How many luxuries could you give up?

We have tried to cut back on everything including cable and eating out but it still wouldn't cover our school loans. He could cover everything else except our student loans.

Car: is in the parking lot of a liquor store where the sole purpose is to buy alcohol and is probably the most likely place to find "creepy" people in any neighborhood regardless of how safe that neighborhood is. You're not in the car. You can't see or hear your baby inside of your car. Strangers can see your baby inside of your car while you're inside buying beer.

Play pen: is in your house. You are in your house. You can easily hear your baby cry. No creepy liquor store people are in your house or near your playpen and there is no potential that someone might drive off with said playpen with your baby inside of it. No one will call CPS on you for putting your baby in their playpen.

There are probably more differences than just those too.

Yeah, I have to agree. Leaving the baby in the car while at the liqour store is a bit much. And I leave my kids strapped into their carseats (in our driveway) while I unload the grocercies (they are safer strapped up than if they had free run of the house, my kids are a dangerous combo of smart and agile Crying, they have and will get into very dangerous things if I can't see them at all times).

    Aw :(  I don't think that's a bad thing.

Haven't you confessed this before.  Hand to God,  I have read this word for word before.  And I don't think that this is a bad confession.

I haven't confessed this before...maybe it was someone else? I usually don't do FFFC.

Eh, I do this all the time.  I'd rather DD be exposed to spit up residue than Lysol.  I clean her face with a warm wash cloth the next time we change her diaper.  There really isn't anything to sanitize from her own spit up.  Poop is another story.

I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

I hate that you just reffered to your kid that way.

    No

Agreed. =/ I, too, get frustrated when DS wakes up from a light sleep over something like me breathing, coughing, etc.. but to call him something so negative? Not kosher.

I think you all should lighten up. I'm sure she doesn't think her child is a bastard. What is the point of the FFFC post if you're going to flame stuff that isn't even that flameable???

  • I just bought 2 more drooler bibs *sigh*  I couldn't help it, they're cute and DS drools buckets when he is teething. Some of us are probably funding her childrens' education.

Look, it's true people have to do things sometimes, but that just doesn't make sense. Getting the mail is  not the same as walking away from your car (locked or not) in public, and stepping into a separate building. I don't have to leave DS to get my mail, he's right there next to me as I get it and get back in. If I bring him inside in his carseat before unloading the car, he's not out in public, he's in our home. I just don't think it's the same.

When you do what you did, you risk someone calling it in because your LO is alone in public. It would really suck to try to explain to a cop how it's no different than the playpen when you bought some beer.

I have diaper rash, and I borrowed some of A's cream. Embarrassed  I've had to wear pads all week because AF was so heavy (sorry if TMI).  It was a bajillion degrees outside yesterday and sweat + pads = no fun at all.  I was desperate... it worked.

I did this while I was pregnant. I was sweating and so damp that I had diaper rash, that baby cream is awesome lol.

At 930 this AM I had some crackers and Cheez Wiz followed but marshmallows. I'm grumpy and tired, and they were the first things I grabbed.  No, I don't wonder why I've yet to lose my baby weight.

I would love to have some marshmallows right now.

I was joking around with my sister once and called my kid a biotch, but immediately felt terrible. It wasn't funny at all. BUT this is flame free. Sometimes you have to let your frustrations out.

Oops. Didn't see the replies. I have a terrible mouth, but I love my son more than life itself. He's driving me nuts, but don't we all have moments of frustration?

It's not like I left him to scream or hurt him or even called him that to his face... I would never do that!

    So much for FFFC. Embarrassed

Ooof. You ladies wouldn't appreciate the "hostle baby rocking songs" my mom suggested I sing...

My DH ticked me off last night so I licked all the forks and then put them back in the silverware drawer.

    I win at passive aggressivitiy.

You definitely win, but I would so do this, too.

I used to cut little tiny holes in my brother's shirts when I was younger when he pissed me off.

I frequently wipe A's boogers, slobber, and eye gunk on FI's side of the bed when there's no tissues or burp cloths within reach. Sometimes my own as well. Sometimes even if I have a tissue/burp cloth. The worst part is he knows. The absolute worst part is he assumes I'm joking.

I really hope you don't do this again. I don;t understand how many kids have to die in a car or be stolen for people to stop doing this.
