Finally my delivery story!!

Finally starting to get the swing of things and got a chance to type out my story. Sorry it's late, but better late then never right!!

Thanks ladies for everything, you are all right it does get a little easier over time!

On May 11th I got home from work at 7pm and fed the dogs. Then something did not feel right, I thought I just wet my pants. I went to go change and more fluid came out ( I always thought that when your water breaks it's like the women on tv and gushes out not trickles). I grabbed a towel and called DH. He told me to call the doctor. I called them and left a message. DH got home and we were waiting for a call back. They told us to come in, but first get some dinner. So DH tries cooking some pasta and ends up burning it. We had our hospital bags ready, but still he was running around grabbing things while I stayed put. We ended up getting in the car and going to Mcdonald's for dinner. It was the only thing around and I can tell you my Big Mac did not hit the spot. So we ate dinner in the Mcdonald's parking lot. *How Romantic* We get to L&D triage and they are trying to test the fluid to see if it was amniotic. They tell me to go waddle around for an hour and then come back. For some reason I was still in denial this was happening and was thinking they were going to send me home. When I got back to triage they tell me that I am going to be admitted. Oh boy this is really happening is all I am thinking. I get to my delivery room at 11pm. Get hooked up to all the machines and they give me some pill called "Miso?" that is suppose to help ripen the cervix. I try and get some sleep. Fast forward to 3am and I am starting to feel more contractions, even get in the tub and that is not helping with the pain. So about 7am I ask about the epidural and they check me to see I am only at 4cm. DH was started to worry about me as I was getting white as a ghost. Got the epidural and that gives me some relief. I did end up getting a fever twice and At about 6:30pm the nurse checks me and says I am full dialted and they could see the head. They were concerned about Aiden since his heartbeat was at 204 and he needed to get out of there. We were waiting for the dr, but the nurse told DH to grab a leg since we needed to get Aiden out of there ASAP. So after 5 minutes of pushing and being assisted with the vacuum Aiden was born. Since his heartbeat was so NICU was on hand and they noticed he had trouble breathing and was going to take him to NICU. But after a minute he was breathing fine. Little guy was so strong as they were trying to get an IV into him to make sure I didn't pass on the infection and after 30 minutes they finally put one in his head. (It was pretty sad looking). So almost 24 hours after my water broke he finally came into the world. That was a crazy adventure.
