December 2010 Moms

I'm glad I had a December baby...

I remember feeling sorry for myself because it was winter, and we couldn't go anywhere due to cold/flu season. But now, I'm glad having a 6 month old to enjoy the summer! In the winter it's so cold and you're cooped up anyway. But by the time summer rolls around baby is old enough to swim, etc. Babies born in summer have to wait a whole year before they can enjoy swimming!

  • We all earned it. Staying in all winter with a baby isn't the easiest thing!

  • Very good point!  I think it would be hard to have a newborn in the summer and have to stay inside all the time.  The winter was a perfect time to be all snuggled up with our sweet, little newborns.

  • I loved having winter babies.  I can't imagine having a newborn  or being 9 months pregnant in the summer - yuck!

  • Hah! Agreed. I was so out of it from sleep deprivation that I totally missed winter this year. Plus, I never once had to shovel snow. Win! Wink
  • Exactly!! I was just saying this to my friend who is due next month, lol!

  • With my 2 older boys 3 and 6 they were born April and May and we were always outside doing something. But now with my baby girl, I am scared to take her outside anymore since having a double ear infection and phenomena and being hospitalized with an iv for 3 days at the end of April. Whenever it is a little breezy outside I don't even want to take her out :( I wish I could get over this but I don't want it to happen again!
  • I agree. The only thing I'm bummed about is not being able to have his 1st birthday party outside in nice weather. We live in a small apartment so we'll either have to rent a place or just have a family party at my parents' house that most of our friends won't be able to come to (its an hour and a half away). This won't be so bad when we have a house.

your totally right!  i never thought of it that way!

  • I agree that having a winter bay is better than having a summer baby. Both my kids were born in the winter December and Febuary. It was so much fun to have them be able to enjoy the summer months.
  • Move to Florida. You get good weather, year-round. Problem solved!

Normally I'm not a huge fan of Texas, but it was great to have a winter baby down here.
