That's show biz...

I have had to keep my mouth shut about this which is really hard but I am pissed at x factor and Simon Cowell this morning. 

My little brother auditioned in NJ months ago. Made round after round, was interviewed a bunch of times over the phone. He made the live audition round where you audition in front of 4,000 people and Simon. My parents go with him, they are all back stage, he is miked, they did all of the TV package stuff with my parents to tell his story for the show. My brother is miked ready to go. They can hear the judges. The girl wasn't getting through and was making a scene. In the extra minute or so it took to remove her the clock struck 10. The producers had to shut it down b/c they had to leave the arena at the stroke of 10. So my brother did not get to audition and will not be on x factor this fall.............He is so bummed and I feel so bad for him. It sucks b/c his call time was 5:00. 

 

ETA: The live audition was last night.

    Oh, boo, Lauren.  :(

    I am not familiar with the X-factor.  Is it general talent or just singing?  At any rate, I hope your brother gets another shot.

    It will be new this fall and is Simon's version of American Idol.

    Aw, that really sucks!  Sounds like they have some serious timing issues if his call time was at 5:00 and they didn't even get to him by 10.  They've done this enough before with other shows to know how it goes... wtf?

    It's a British show that they are bringing here, it is different than American Idol in that there are 4 categories - women under 26 (the age could be different here), men under 26, over 26 (or whatever the age is) and groups. Then there are 4 judges and each judge gets a group and mentors them. It is a million times better than AI in my opinion.

    Saying that, that blows for your brother! They can just do that? That just seems wrong.

    Yeah he was really upset. They had to be out of the arena by 10 not a minute later. I don't think 10:05 would have killed anyone though. Clearly their time mgmt sucks.
