DS just got his epipen and it says to keep it at room temp. We are going on vacation in 2 weeks and planning on doing alot of outdoor activities...like amusement park, beach...sightseeing. We will be in NC and I think it will be pretty hot....Where do you keep the epipen so it doesn't get too hot...do you bring it everywhere? For example, I don't think we need it at the beach since he won't be exposed to anything...but we probably need it at the amusement park.
TIA
Re: Epipen question?
you do need it at the beach (IMO). you need it everywhere where your child with allergy is. People bring food the beach and it can easily be left behind under the same sand your child is playing with.
Did your epipen come with a case? just leave it in that and keep it away from direct sunlight. I had the same question recently and had a pharmasist check my epipen to make sure it's still ok. He said that it's ok as long as the liquid doesnt change colors or looks foggy. We had it in 90 degree weather but never in direct sunlight.
