They finally got me over to ultrasound and to see the MFM docs. My cervix did continue to shorten overnight and is now at less than 1/2CM. The dr thinks the cerclage is my only hope. She said they can do a cerclage once you are dilated even, which I am not. My cervix thankfully is still closed. So right now I am just waiting on the OR to open up from an emergent c-section and I will be moved to surgery. I'm so nervous but trying to stay as positive as I possibly can that this will help my little man stay put for quite a few more weeks. My personal goal is to make it to 30 weeks right now and hopefully well beyond that!
Thank you ladies for being so supportive. It honestly means so much! I haven't been able to eat or drink since last night and I would kill for a drink of water right now! Hopefully surgery will happen soon so I can have a drink!
Re: Finally saw the docs!
Wow. I'm so thankful that you were finally seen. I've been thinking about you since yesterday. Thank you so much for the updates.
I will keep praying for you and your little one. Sending crazy good/wonderful/awesome vibes your way. And ((hugs))
I'm so sorry to hear your cervix is not cooperating but THANK GOODNESS they can/will still do the cerclage! A million good vibes coming your way!! Hope the procedure goes flawlessly and your little man stays put for a LONG time!!!!!!!
You know, I had no idea what they used to do a cerclage (guess I thought it was like regular sutures/stitches?) until about a year ago a woman on the SAIF board posted a pic of hers after they removed it (and cleaned it) No wonder they work
They look like a shoe lace! The best part of this story is that she went pretty much full term after getting the cerclage very early in her pregnancy, like 14 weeks or something.
I'm continuing to send you and your baby every good vibe I've got! And I hope that the next 12+ weeks are the most boring of your life!!!!
(((hugs)))

Praying, praying! I've been thinking of you all morning and was anxious to come on and get an update on you.
My friend had cerclages with her last two children. They did the trick. I hope it's the answer for you.

So, so, so glad that the doctors are still able to perform the cerclage. I really hope this is the answer and that baby stays in there till he's supposed to come out. Bless you for keeping us updated, we are all worrying and wondering about you.

Good luck with the surgery! I'm still thinking and praying for you guys!
I am very late on my post, but I have been thinking and praying for both you and baby boy since I first saw that you were in distress. Lots of positive thoughts and prayers coming your way for a successful cerclage and recovery!
BTW, my SIL is currently at MVH in Dayton on bedrest. She is 28 wks. along with triplets. She has been there since week 20 because she too, had to have a cerclage done as she was dilating/contracting. Thankfully, the surgery was a success, and she's made it this far with no further issues. She is hoping to get to at least 30 wks and beyond, God willing. Just wanted to share a positive story.
Hope it goes smooth and lil man stays put!!!!!!
Sending vibezzzz your way! You are doing great lady!
Are you on mag drip? Did I miss that anywhere?

That is great news! (well not that you have had to go through all this but that you are able to get a cerclage). DH's bosses wife got one really early because she had a history of loss and pre-term labor (she had 6 stillborns before finally having her DS and now is pg again with a DD). She is pushing 34 weeks now holding strong! I know she sees the same MFM's you are seeing (she saw them for all her pregnancies). I am really hopeful that this will be a nice long term solution for you to keep little man cooking!
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help in the coming days (bring a meal or two over, etc.) T&P headed your way for a smooth procedure and quick recovery!
