We are going to start interviewing pediatricians and we have no idea what to ask! What are some good questions we should be addressing at these interviews?
We're doing this, but I'm actually leaning towards using the same pediatrician I had when I grew up. She is still practicing, and lucky me! I'm still living where I was raised.
Re: Pediatrician interview questions?
I am sure there are a ton more, but the biggest ones for me were
1. Hours open
2. How many days of week are you open
3. Do you have an on-call person when doctor isn't there
4. How many days of the week is the doctor there
It depends on what you are looking for in a Pedi. Some questions we asked with our first was:
Here's one that has been very, very important to us:
If we wake up and DD/DS is ill, can we be seen the same day? Will it be you or another doctor in the practice?
Also, is there an after hours RN available for questions and recommendations?
With chronic ear infections, there were many mornings she woke up with a 103+ fever and they got us in. My girlfriend's pedi wasn't so accommodating.
