Currently, we make 5 8oz bottles for DS and 5 7 oz bottles for DD. They get a little bit of oatmeal + fruit puree in the AM and veggies with dinner. We're on a 7/11/3/7/11 schedule and I've noticed they're taking for-freaking-ever to eat their 11am or 3pm bottles (and sometimes both) and only want about half. I realize they are drinking a LOT of formula and wondering if it's time to reduce the amount. I think DS will just eat it as long as it's in front of him, albeit slowly, but DD is very clear when she's done.

Oh, no, they're in bed by 7:15 or so. I still clutch dearly to the 11pm dreamfeed because I worry about them waking to eat in the middle of the night. And they eat that one so fast that I'm thinking they are hungry at that time.
We're on Dr. Brown's Level 3 nipples. When they are into eating, it's a 5-10 minute process. But lately the 11am or 3pm bottle can take as long as 30 minutes. And most of that is just DS eating slooooooooowly.
My girls were getting 4 - 8 oz. bottles a day starting at 5 months old and they kept that until they were 10 months old and we dropped to 3 bottles a day because they were starting to eat table foods and purees throughout the day. Our bottle schedule was 7:30/11:30/3:30/6:30 - bedtime at 7pm - no overnight bottles.
Sounds like they are getting a lot of formula, at this age I would work on dropping that 11pm feeding. Even with only 4 - 8oz. bottles a day and starting on purees that should be plenty of food during the day that they should be able to go to bed at 7pm and not need anything overnight (11pm) and sleep the whole way through until 7am. I would start lowering the amount you give them at that 11pm feeding every night by 1 oz. And whatever amount they drink, meaning if it less than in the bottle, that is the new amount you start lowering the next night. Once you get down to like 2-3oz. they may not even wake anymore to eat because it won't be worth it to them to wake.
