NBR: anyone selling a reliable car, cheap? (sorry so random :)

I feel a little weird asking about this here but I figured it couldn't hurt. Let me give you a little background on what's up....

My younger brother (he's 19) is a really good guy (respectful, doesn't get in trouble at home, do drugs, etc). He doesn't have the greatest home situation (we have different dads, his dad and my mom are split up now too and it's very messy). Anyway, he's trying really hard to get out of there but of course, living on your own is $$$.

He's had a good job in a deli at a grocery store for over a year and just took a full time (with benefits) postion. Which of course is awesome. We all know there aren't many of those kind of retail jobs open these days.

The crappy part is, my mom has to move him and my 2 sisters to a new apartment (by the end of this month) that's like 10 miles away from his job. Right now they live right around the corner and he walks. He could ride the bus to work from the new place but he has no way to get home (he closes most nights, buses don't run that late where he is). I'm too far away to come get him at night, my mom work's 3rd shift so she's gone and can't pick him up, dad isn't gonna help.

I'm on a mission to find this dude a car so he doesn't have to quit his job! He's looked for a new job already (within walking distance of the new place) and there aren't many places hiring, the few that are will only do part time (<25 hrs) which is quite a step down from what he's got now.

Sooooo, I figured I'd check here to see if anyone I 'know' has a car for sale currently or maybe knows of someone on there street with one in their driveway or something? We've also been scouring Craigslist but I know not everyone advertises. I'll be honest, he doesn't have a lot of money to spend... definitely not more than $2k, preferably under. Doesn't have to look good, just needs to be reliable and safe.
