We had a pretty long transition from crawling-walking. DS started crawling at 6 months and cruising at 7 months old. Right before he turned 9 months, he took his first steps. From 9 months-12 months, he would walk taking 4-5 steps at a time, but was still crawling more than walking. The week he turned 12 months, he started walking full time and was walking coordinated as well.
Yay!! that's awesome. I've posted about this before, but my daughter also had a long transition from steps to walking - about 2 months. It was probably a few weeks from her taking more than 5 steps regularly to being a full time walker.
I hope it doesn't take months and months since she's already 17.5 months and 27 lbs!! She's breaking my back!
She took her first independent steps at 15.5 months. Then at 17 months finally started taking more steps and now at 17.5 months even more steps. Hopefully it'll be sooner than later. Thanks!!
As soon as she finally started walking at 15 month, Sarah didn't crawl anymore and walked well. It seemed like she just took her time until she was good at it.

DS took his first steps at 14.5 months and just last week at 16 months he is now really good at walking and wants to walk everywhere. He crawls on occasion if he falls because he's too lazy to get up. But he's 95% walking now. So 6 weeks for us.

DS started crawling at 10 months, cruising at like 11 and didn't take his first steps till 14.5 months. Even after he took his first steps for about 3 weeks he always went to crawling over walking unless DH and I were encouraging him to take steps. In the past 2 weeks or so he has been 100% walking and he still is pretty wobbly (we call him the drunko) but he refuses to crawl now and if he falls he just gets right back up and goes back to walking.
Re: How long from beginning/wobbly walking to good walking?
