Babies: 3 - 6 Months

When did you stop using the RnP?

My DD still sleeps great for naps & nighttime in her RnP.  I wish she could just sleep in that thing until she turns 3 years old. LOL   But...seriously, at what age did you stop using the RnP?  How long do you think it's safe to use for sleep?

She is pretty small still (maybe pushing 14 lbs) and doesn't roll over yet.

We tried the crib on Friday night, but gave up after an hour and a half of trying.  I'm weak.

  • My DD is 5 months 2 weeks and still uses hers Embarrassed

I really want her out of it but when night night time comes I just put her right in <sigh> I think 5 months is way to long yet I can't stop it.

  • The instruction book says 25 lbs. or when they start pulling up to sitting/standing.  So we still use ours, but I am trying to transition him to the crib.  We only use it for naps though.

So technically It's still ok for DD but I still think it's time for her to be in her crb.

  • About 4 months. Now he's sitting up and rolls all over his crib so the RnP definitely wouldn't work for him. We did make a little 'nest' for him in the crib at first, though, to mimic the RnP until he got used to it.

3 days ago.  It was a much smoother transition than I expected.  Her nighttime sleep fell apart 2 weeks ago, so we said WTH, let's transition while nobody is sleeping.

  • Ok, glad to hear I'm not the only one still using it.

Any tips on transitioning from those who have had success??

She just cries & cries in the crib...and I don't believe in CIO...so - what to do?? I soothe her, but the minute I'm out the door the crying starts up again.

I'd like to make the crib a little more "cozy" but I'm so paranoid with all the SIDS warnings.

  • We stopped shortly after 4 months because we felt it was contributing to his torticollis. Unfortunately, we also stopped swaddling right around the same time, so we went from 6-8 hours of sleep straight to 2-3.5, though last night he FINALLY went 5 again so hopefully we've adjusted! He uses the crib and magic sleep suit now.

  • We stopped the first time she tried to sit up in it. That was around 5 months. We put a blanket folded under matress to slant crib a little. We then rolled up thin blankets and put the on either side of her under the crib sheet. She seemed to have not problem.

We stopped around 3 months. The pedi advised us to start putting him in the crib because he was getting a little bit of a flat head in the back. It was great for his reflux though. We started him off with just taking naps in his crib so he would get used to being in there and then starting putting him in their at night also. He actually fell asleep with his legs up in the air because he was used to having them up in the RnP. We used some of the No cry sleep solutions which seemed to help bc we didn't believe in CIO either.

    This!

But today I bought a crib wedge, breatheable bumpers, and will try to roll up something underneath the crib sheet.

We tried several times to get him in the crib for either nighttime or naps and I failed miserably.
