Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Do babies have nightmares?

DD will be napping, but then kind of wake up, but just to cry for maybe 30 seconds at most. Then she falls right back to sleep. Is it nightmares?

Re: Do babies have nightmares?

  • I like to think so. I imagine they are about someone taking their bottle or something so cute like that.

  • DS does that too a few times he has woken in the middle of the night screaming so much that I have to go in an calm him.

I figure he was having a nightmare in which the world no longer had boobies to feed him....LOL! Big Smile

  • I was just about to post about this!  My little one is 5w 2d and just started doing this today during her nap.  She will be sleeping soundly, then suddenly let out a sharp cry and then fall right back to sleep by the time I reach for her.  Wierd!  Nightmares, huh?  Is there anything we can do to help our DC?
  • we think so.  dh says she's dreaming the tittie is just out of each and no matter how hard she tries it won't come any closer.
  • I think they do. Sometimes DD wakes up in a scream  cry and goes right back to sleep afterward. It makes me sad.
  • My girls do the same thing. It is cute now that I know they aren't hurt or anything.
