Must-see ideas for 5 yr old in NYC for 1 day

We are coming to NYC to go to American Girl for DD's 5th birthday. We'll be taking her to the American Girl store to shop and for breakfast and would like suggestions for a few other things while we're there. Any ideas for things kids love near the store (Fifth Avenue at 49th Street)? We'll only be there for the day.

    FAO Schwartz.  It's a huge toy store and can keep a child busy for hours.  On the 2nd floor, check out the "Big" Piano from the movie Big.  My son spent an hour running up and down "playing" it. 

    I'll have to think about other things - I don't go to 5th Avenue and that area often.

    3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
    IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again

    Guessing this has passed, but the Central Park Zoo isn't horribly far away :)
