I really need some help with this (Long)

My son is just now 5 mos ( 20 wks).  He used to go to bed between 7-8pm, wake up between 12 and 1am ,eat and then sleep again until 4:30-5am.  He started daycare on Oct.1st and has been sick ever since (cold, congestion, cough).  When I pick him up in the late afternoon from daycare, he is mainly miserable until bedtime.  Meaning...he cries and cries and does not stop fussing.  Then, he takes his bath and bottle and bed around 7-8ish.  He is then up an hour or so later, crying almost inconsolably.  I calm him after several tries and then he falls asleep.  He will then wake up again an hour later and again and again.  I feed him around 1-2am and sometimes just have been nursing him for comfort so he falls asleep.  I have also tried him in the swing as I have wondered if he is constantly crying due to his congestion and probs breathing.  I say all this b/c I am lost about what to do and why this is occuring.  I have talked with his pedi several times and one dr said its colic?!  I think its pretty late for colic to start.  I dont have any help at home so I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions or experience with this.  Thank you.

    What do his daily daycare reports say about his naps & feeding when he is there?

    He eats 3 times, full bottle.  His naps are short and infrequent.  He totals 1 1/2 - 2 hours total nap time.  He sleeps only 20 minhere, 30 there, etc

    It sounds like his main problem is that he's not sleeping as much as he needs to and when he gets home he's overtired.  Babies between 3-6 months need 14-16 hours total/day.

    I would talk to your daycare about what their process is for getting him down for naps, and how you can work together on this.
