Projectile poop?

My husband was changing DD's diaper this morning and ran into the bedroom all panicked.  He said she had a major blowout once he took off her diaper.  When I walked into the nursery it was pretty nasty - there was poop all over her changing pad, all over her changing station, on the carpet, her crib that is about 2 feet away and even on the wainscotting/wall which is about 3 feet away.  How on EARTH is that possible?  Has this ever happened to anyone's DC?

Re: Projectile poop?

  • I never had it that bad, but my dd would projectile poop all the time. She used to do it a lot when she coughed or sneezed.?

  • She did this last week in the middle of the night. I was changing her on our bed when she projectile pooped all of me and the bed. DH was really upset that he had to get up so we could change the sheets.

I think they just have that gassy feeling and push so hard! Our DD looks constipated when she is passing gas or pooping, she gets so red in the face. This time, it just happed to come out as poop!

  • Yep. ?One of my girls did this to me a few times while she was still in the NICU. ?Got me all down my front and my husband had to go to the mall and buy me a new shirt. ?She hasn't done it in awhile, knock on wood.
  • That happened to my SIL on the day before my brother's birthday party, about an hour before the guests arrived!  She was changing her in the PNP they'd set up in their dining room.  It was all over the wallpaper and the carpet.  I was about 5 months pg at the time, and the look on DH's face was priceless.

I'm trying to figure out how DD managed to crap up her front to her belly button yesterday.  Miraculously, there was no poop on her butt or on the back of the diaper.

  • My son did this a few weeks ago.  For some reason laying him on the changing table makes him have to go... Now I wait if he is still grunting and red-faced!
