I take a shower every day and I don't understand when people say they never get to shower now that they have kids. I have two kids and I manage it. I also get dressed every day, it doesn't take any more effort to put on jeans and a sweater than it does to put on yoga pants. The pajamification of America is driving me up the wall.

Ha!  I'm gross.  I don't always take a shower every day.  But I never claim that it's the fault of having kids.  It's because I'm too lazy to get off my @ss and/or pull myself away from the TV during nap time.  I'm telling myself that with nicer weather it'll be easier to get off my butt because I'll want to get out and do stuff.

Thank you for confessing what I was too embarrassed to confess myself.  ;)  I am not a morning person, so I have a tough time getting going and by the time it's TIME.TO.GO I have to just throw something on and skedaddle.  I will admit that I had this problem pre-kids too though.

No problem.  :)  You're definitely not alone.

I will say, though, that I do always put on (at least) jeans and a t-shirt to leave the house.  They might be the same pair of jeans all week, but they're jeans nonetheless.

Yep me too.  I'm not quite pajamafied.  ;)

And I forgot to quote but I agree with the whole baby contest thing.  I hate them!  And refuse to vote in them.

The only time I'm okay with them is when it's the kid of a close, close friend.  Otherwise, no thank you.

Agreed! If I've never met you in person or we're only acquaintances, do not send me 84 Facebook messages asking me to vote for your kid. Not gonna happen!

This x100. And it makes me even more annoyed when I get the solicitation over e-mail -- especially from someone I have not ever met. I am not going to vote for your kid, sponsor you in an event or buy your kid's Girl Scout cookies, and I really don't need multiple reminders. Also, maybe it's just me, but I hate when people hint or allude to wanting to call someone out or break the FFFC. Given that about 70 percent of the time, the FF edict is broken, just do it. You may feel better!

Since no other kids have ever come up to, and started talking to Holden or us out of nowhere, I'm guessing its not common to be this friendly.  We must be doing something right with him =)    (I guess that was more of a brag, than a confession...)

Caden is a lot like this too.  Especially at playgrounds.  We went to a new playground last weekend and I yelled at Caden, "What are you doing up there?" and he said, "making friends!"  I LOVED it.

The Flame Free part is that sometimes I think he is going to get his feelings hurt because some kid won't want to play with him and I don't know how he will react.  I was super proud of him (flame away!) when the other day he went up to a boy who was probably 8-9 and asked if he wanted to play and the kid looked at his friends and said, "don't play with him, he's a baby!" and Caden said, "I'm not a baby, you are!"...nice comeback son!

Confused Why don't you just call sunmountain out and tell her to JUST DO IT instead of being all passive aggressive about it. I know I know it wasn't about her right? There I just saved you from having to take the time to quote me to tell me that!

Ben is the same.  And he does get sad when kids turn him down.   It's a learning experience I guess but it's still sad.

    p.s. Good comeback.  ;)

  • Oh I just remembered one!   Its not flamable though, just a confession.   I *love* being pregnant,  even when I'm super uncomfortable and have non stop morning sickness, even when I cant walk for more than an hour without my hips hurting or stand in line for more than 30 min without almost passing out.   I still *love* being pregnant because it is the only time that I ever feel good about the way I look.   Its like a happy 9 month vacation from hating on myself.

I completely agree. I felt bad about my body before I was pregnant and now I feel worse about it. During pregnancy I felt great and always got compliments on how good I looked.

There are two camps -  big head bows on girls and absolutely no big head bows. I am without a doubt in the no big head bow camp. I kind of get a physical reaction when I see a darling baby's face competing w/ them.

I'm with you.  I think little bows or headbands are cute.  But I can't deal with bows that are as big (or bigger!) than the baby's head.  It's a child, not a present.

Agreed! and I'm trying to find a way to fit more little bows/headbands for E in our budget because we don't have any that fit her head anymore...what a silly budget item!

This is EXACTLY how I felt. I had way more self confidence during both of my pregnancies! I miss that.

Blake is the same way as Caden, he manages to find friends everywhere we go. He hasn't gotten his feelings hurt yet but I am sure its coming. He is just the friendliest kid ever and wants everyone to be his friend!

  • I've turned into one of those moms. Yesterday Edmund coughed up a little blood. I freaked out called DH so that he could come home and pick us up so we could go to urgent care. I was totally freaking out and bawling because I was scared it was something serious. It turned out to be just the blister on the roof of his mouth bleeding. Thank god but I was still freaked.

I have thought several times recently that if I got pregnant I could stop hating the way I look. Not a good reason to get preg., but would be a great benefit! *sigh*

  • Dang gang - I've never been quoted so much. Fine fine I wasn't trying to be passive aggressive but I suppose it came out that way. My apologies

All I was thinking was in reference to that whole post about "baby in the belly".  Really, if someone told me or said to their child in front of me that the baby was "in utero" I'd laugh, loudly. Seriously....if this is how seriously you take something like THAT having two kids is going to work you over like you've never seen.

I don't really feel better but the whole thing is still all around funny.

Have a good weekend gals - go drink some wine! :)

I really , really hate DVDs that dont let you skip directly to the play menu.

So true!  I assumed it was only happening with rental DVD's, though.  So annoying!

  • Briandsean- lil. We should have a bumpie naughty party. :).

my confession- I got a bonus today and I'm telling DH it was an expense reimbursement/Amex payment from work. Now I plan to surprise him with an iPad for fathers day. And momma is going shopping!

the bad thing, I used my embarrassingly large suitcase this week for my trip and the darn suitcase is so heavy empty I was already over 50 pounds on the flight out. While there us a TON of room, it will be WAY over if I shop here.
