Ugh, H hurt my feelings a little bit

H is in the Navy and is gone until the end of the month and then we'll be moving to his new duty station.  I haven't seen him in 2 weeks and my belly has gotten quite a bit larger since he left.  I've sent him picture messages but tonight I showed him my growing bump on skype.  He said that it's getting huge and asked if I was sure there was just one in there. 

I'm having image issues lately and it's hard not having H around to reaffirm that I don't look like the hippo I feel like I'm morphing into.  Stupid hormones - I feel like I'm a middle schooler again.

    Off topic but my husband recently joined the Navy and we will be sent to our first duty station right before our LO arrives! Good to know theres another navy wife On the November board! I won't see him for 3 months right before our due date so I wonder what kind of comments he will have for my growing belly when he gets home!

    Very cool!  I know there are at least a few other military wives over here but I don't know if any other are Navy.  I'm freaking out about our PCS in 3 weeks.

    Same, I've seen military but not necessarily Navy. Yikes, I haven't had to go through that yet because he was in DEP for a while waiting to get his ship date for bootcamp. But I'll definitely be thinking about you in a few weeks. I'm already stressing over our move in October. Gulp!

    Sorry your feelings got hurt.It must be difficult to be apart. So hard not to get image issues while pregnant! I can totally relate to feeling like a whale. Hope you feel better and have a wonderful reunion when he gets home.

    oh, you poor thing. He probably was just surprised to see you grow and didn't know what else to say. I am sure you look great.

    My husband is active duty air force, We PCS next week - driving east and then headed to Germany!

    He likely didn't even stop to think how that would make you feel. I'm sorry, honey. My DH says stuff like that all.the.time. Today, he told me, "Watch where you swing that thing... You could take out a small village with that bump.". thanks dude... thanks.

    Off topic but my DH is Active Duty Air Force. But I am sorry that your DH said that I am sure you look amazing!

    I am sorry that your H expressed his feelings in that manner.  I am sure your bump looks cute and not huge.  My DH is Coast Guard and he came home from a week at sea last week and said, "Wow, you are definitely pregnant." I interpreted that as a trying-to-be-tactful way of saying my belly looks big, which just made me feel great *note the sarcasm.*

    Thanks ladies.  I know he didn't mean it to hurt my feelings but I'm super sensitive right now and take everything way too personally.

    I sent a picture of my belly to my husband and asked him if I looked bigger. (It's been two months since we saw each other, so he would notice) he paused for a moment then said "Yes, but only because you have a baby growing in your belly." I got a good laugh out of it because he was trying not to hurt my feelings. 

     

    I know how you feel. I've had image problems my entire life. But now I am just embracing it and knowing that I am growing bigger because of my baby.
