...to my house this evening. But how much do you think she'll leave for a front top tooth? A buck maybe two? Gah!! I don't know. Kids are more into money these days than I ever was at 7. My seven year old was playing with my IPod the other day and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. I told him it worked fine, and he said no it doesn't I keep touching the screen but nothings happening! Oy, sorry kid not everything is touch screen. Me thinks this does not bode well for how things will be once he hits the teen years and electonics.

We would usually get a quarter or two. For the big ones a buck maybe. Sometimes we would get little chatchkies too instead of money.

Back when I was a kid, I got a quarter. But I think it might end up being a dollar when my kids lose their teeth. Hopefully I have at least a year before Matthias loses a tooth, but the way matthias likes to land on his teeth, it might be sooner than that.

Yeah, all I used to get was a quarter or two. I guess with twenty five years worth of inflation the price of teeth has gone up. I'm thinking a dollar will suffice.

whoa, you got different amounts for different teeth? I feel cheated lol! We always got a quarter per tooth. I see nothing wrong with giving that much now, but I guess a dollar would be fine.

Lol, I totally agree about nothing being wrong with a quarter. I just look at it like you can't even make a call from a public phone for a quarter anymore. We're teaching him about saving money for things that you want. So I guess a dollar is good enough. A little something to add to his wallet.

A friend of mine gives her children $25 a tooth. I was shocked! I'd pull my own teeth out if I knew I'd get that kind of money from the tooth fairy.

For the record, my kids will be getting $1 per tooth.

I work for a dentist, and I always ask kids how much teeth go for these days. You would be amazed at how many say $20 a tooth. I always got four quarters, so that is what DD will be getting.

We got a dollar that was sprayed with some glitter glue or something. It made it seem special I guess. It also helped keep us from spending it right away because it was "magic," I'm pretty sure I still have a couple of those dollars tucked away somewhere.

This is way cute.

I once got an IOU from the tooth fairy... she "forgot" to come for a week, and when she did finally take the tooth she left me a little piece of paper with "fairy footprints" spelling out "IOU $1"

Apparently my mom had been trying for a week to sneak a dollar under my pillow, but I kept waking up and finally by the last night she'd spent the dollar and forgot to get change at the store, so she cooked up the IOU plan. The IOU was cooler than the dollar, but I was rather upset that it'd taken a week and there was no dollar. My dad said he'd buy the IOU from me for two dollars, and that was fair.
