I never knew how to give a hickey. I've tried - but never could.

If a social worker walked into my childhood home, we all would have (and should have) been taken away. I'm glad it didn't happen, because it would have killed my mom. Four years later, she's still suffering from my brother's suicide.
I worked in the music business for 10 years - toured with bands, that's how my husband and I met. One of those 7 marriages in the business which work out. ;-)
Also, I was born at 26 weeks - first German baby to survive this.
The year my parents divorced (and I'm so glad they did) I was 13. I spent the next year of my life obsessed with Philadelphia Flyers Hockey. I didn't go out and play, my friends stopped knocking and asking me to come out. I just watched hockey for a whole season, clipeed newspaper reports, read stats and memorized them, and knew every player's name and number. (Still remember most of them).
Then one day the following year, a friend knocked on my doo and I went out.
I'm a well-adjusted adult even though everyone thought I was a weird kid.
I LOVE old school gaming systems and H's PS3 gets on my nerves because the graphics are too realistic to me. I could literally spend all day playing atari, sega genesis or the Nintendo NES. To this day I still think Sonic is the shiz

I am super shy. Most people meet me and think I am outgoing, but I don't know how to make girlfriends. I am excited because this weekend I am going out two separate times with two different gal pals.
Successful after 2 years tttc. Diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis.
I have Brachydactyly Type D (toe thumb, club thumb, hitchhiker thumb, thumb dwarfism....whatever you choose to call it). It is genetic and the only other person in my family that has it is my 2nd cousin (on my dad's side) but she only has one short thumb....I have two short thumbs. Our baby can be born with it so we are waiting to see. It makes it really hard to get acrylic nails...thats for sure!
The scariest moment in my life was when I was holding one of my nanny kids on my lap and he (at 5 months) stopped breathing and went limp. Somehow, I managed to not only take care of him, but pack up the other two (almost 3 years, and a 3 month old - at the time) for the hospital. I got him breathing again, but they never figured out what happened. He is now a happy and healthy 3 1/2 year old.
I met my DH at a bar, and him and I both thought that we would be just a fling......I seriously was only attracted to him for his looks, I thought he was a total douche.....funny how we grew on one another......6 years later= marraige and a baby!!! Bar flings work out people!

People are usually always shocked when I tell them or they don't believe me for some reason.
I don't drink, either. I understand running into disbelieving people. lol
me too. i stopped over 10 years ago when i was diagnosed with hypoglycemia.
mine: i was in an abusive relationship when i was 20-22 and i was lucky to get out of it alive. everyone who knows me thinks of me as a girl who doesn't take any sh!t...and i am ever since then. and none of my family or friends knew it was going on until i tried to get out of it. just goes to show that it can be anyone you know--even the last person you would ever expect it to happpen to.

Megan Fox has that, too. I have a weird body part, too. I have Partial Anodontia. Ah, what I would give for symmetrical teeth!
ETA: Google images depicts it to be much freakier than it actually is. O.o* Two of my teeth (eye teeth) are still adolescent/baby teeth. Two more are asymmetrical. Thankfully it isn't terribly noticeable. Bothers me, though.

When I worked at Aetna, Inc. in NYC, we were at a company social outing and one of my coworkers started choking on a piece of steak. Before anyone could react, I ran over to her and gave her the Heimlich and saved her life. Her last name is Guggenheim so I can proudly say that I saved a Guggenheim. (Incase you didn't know - the Guggenheims are a famous and wealthy family and there is a museum named after them in NY.)

I am allergic to red food dye and scared my girls will be too. I never had the allergy until I was in college. I used to drink cheerwine (kinda like a cherry sprite) everyday then one day it almost killed me. My throat shut, had hives everywhere, lips looked HUGE... I was given cherry benedryll right before my throat started swelling.. and wouldnt you know cherry benedryll has red dye in it.. so after an epi-pen stabbing and days in the hospital I recovered. It scares me that my girls will have this allergy as well... so many medications and foods have it that you would never know about - tylnol (even the white ones with the red writting) and even twinkies!
I was 19 when I got pregnant with my son, but low and behold me and his daddy worked out despite stats. and have been married 11 years, and I love him to death!
I won't ride a bike because I had a horrible bike accident when I was 12 and smashed face first into the street. I lost teeth and my face was covered in road rash. I can't stand to watch kids wiggle loose teeth now either.
My mom and a group of her friends took me camping in Yosemite when I was a baby. My mom's friend came in to check on me and another baby while we were sleeping, and I was completly blue. Luckily, my mom and all her friends are nurses, so they performed CPR on me. I was then helicoptered to my hometown's hospital. My mom knew I would be ok after I smiled at her. If I wasn't with all nurses, I wouldn't have survived. I am a very lucky person.
I have cadaver tendons in my ankle. (I have a chip missing out of the ankle bone and after a few surgeries it became really weak, so the tendons are there to stabilize it.
I was also on Dirty Jobs last fall.

Isn't it an amazing thing to save someone this way! I gave the heimlich to a 16 mo old toddler (who was playing, inappropriately, with a transformer doll) - her mom (who I didn't know) freaked out and just handed her to me!! Luckily - the toy piece flew out of her mouth and all was ok!!!
I have never been drunk, high, or smoked a cigarette. DH is also the only guy I've ever slept with. I realize this makes me sound like a total lame-o but in college I was always the first one up dancing on the bar or kissing the random guy I met that night. All my friends loved that I'd go out, have a great time, and still be able to drive their drunk assses home.
I grew up in a family full of chain smoking alcoholics so none of that ever appealed to me. I also knew myself well enough to know that if I slept with one guy I'd probably sleep with every guy I met so I just didn't let myself go there.
I did CPR on a guy once and saved his life. Gave him mouth-to-mouth (this was before they taught the new way w/o mouth-to-mouth), chest compressions and everything. The AED was really what saved him by shocking his heart rhythym back, but I administered the whole thing. It was so scary when it happened but I am so thankful he made it.
I am trained in CPR for my job but I am not an EMT or doctor or anything like that - I'm a high school teacher.
I have cadaver tendons in my ankle. (I have a chip missing out of the ankle bone and after a few surgeries it became really weak, so the tendons are there to stabilize it.
Crazy runs deep in my family and I'm REALLY scared of postpartum depression!! **I'm a very smiley optimistic person in general, but depression can strike anyone**
I can actually be quite silly. Most of my family and friends think I'm a totally uptight goody-two-shoes, and while I am a stickler for rules and can be a bit of a taddle-tale, I do have a very silly side. People always seem to be surprised when they see that side of me and I don't know why. I don't think even stickiest of us could be sticks in the mud all the time.
