Ok ladies and gents.... my DH and I have been trying to get pregnant now for 4 1/2 years. Let me tell you it's been an absolute rollercoaster, but today I found out our first IUI we did on May 17th WORKED!!! We are PG!! I can't believe it. Is it for real?
Thank you all for supporting me during the hard times. I'm so glad there is a site like this. I wish you all the best and will be checking in periodically to see how you all are doing.
Lots of Love & Support!
Re: I can't believe it!
Congratulations... I don't remember you, but I have only been on the board for two months.
All of this!
IVF #1 with ICSI - ER 1/20 (16R, 12M, 10F), ET 1/23 (1-10 cell and 1-8cell transferred), BFP on 1/31 Beta #1 on 2/3 = 68, Beta #2 on 2/6 = 261 EDD 10/12/12
Congrats on your success after a long time trying, but be prepared that people don't know you and may not give you the response you may be looking for.
Scoot on over to 1st tri.

Nice. She's been ttc for over 4 years and has made several posts here.
OP, congrats.
Yeah, when someone has posted less than 20 times its called a drive-by. I'm happy for her success, I didn't say I wasn't.
She's also posted in - at most - 2 threads a month the last three months . She hasn't been more active than that on any board since March. I highly doubt she's recognized by anyone anywhere.

Not sure what you mean by a drive by but I'm on here a lot. Just because I didn't feel like posting a bunch of things doesn't mean I wasn't aware of what everyone else was doing. It's hard for me to reach out sometimes. Thanks for the well wishes, but not sure why it matters that I only posted 20 times. Sorry didn't know we were keeping track!
Congrats - 4.5 years is a long time, I'm sure you're over the moon about the news! H&H 9 months to you!

But if you're "on here" a lot, you would know that you'd be considered a drive by. You've been lurking, but you've not made your presence known more than 18 times in 4 years. Like I said, I'm happy that you had success after such a long time trying, which is why I posted. I normally would have totally ignored your post because I don't know you.
Communities are a place where you get out what you put in, and you didn't contribute and open yourself up to this one, which is why you're getting the "beep beep" response. I hope that you'll feel more comfortable reaching out to 1st tri.

Wow I never said I was on this site for 4 years. I said we were TTCP for 4 1/2 years. I've been on the site for about 3 months. Not sure what's up your HooHa but you're not ruining my day. Good luck to you cranky pants.
Well said BP. OP - I'm happy for you that you got your BFP after so long trying, that is really awesome and I do mean that. But like BP said, if you've been lurking sooo much you would know what I mean by a drive-by. It's a pretty common term/happening around here. Lots of ladies on here view a BFP post from someone who hasn't posted very much as a bit of a slap in the face because it can be taken as someone trying to "show off" their BFP and fish for congrats from strangers. I'm not saying that's what you are doing, but thats how it can be percieved. When you post your BFP on 1st tri and your month boards you will get a very warm welcome, as you should.
Ok yeah, I was feelin for you until this. Rude. BP was really kind to you. You can move along now....scoot.
Congrats on your pregnancy. I never post on these kinds of threads, but you are WAY out of line here. She WAS NOT cranky at all, IMO. Nor did it appear that she was trying to "ruin your day." She was tactfully telling you congrats and to move on to the First Tri board, where you recieve the responses which you were so obviously looking to get. Now, be gone with you.

OP, we are all happy that you were finally able to get pregnant. But, there is really no need to be rude. I sincerely doubt that BP was trying to ruin your day. I think that you need to go announce your pregnancy in 1st Tri and go get the warm welcome that you are looking for.
Again, congratulations. I hope that you have a very happy and healthy pregnancy.
She's my B*tch. And that's why I love her.
Yeah, I think that was pretty uncalled for. Why don't you actually read the other responses that I posted on this thread and try again. Thanks for playing.
Yep, and "lurkylulu" is just creating some drama... she pretty much just called me fvcking dumb in another thread. Said that "This might be the dumbest fvcking thing I've ever heard."
Try not to let her get to you!
you Sheeeena!
I was not at all cranky. I actually defended you. I said congrats, TWICE. I was simply explaining WHY you got some of the more negative responses that you did. And I apologize, but your join date is 2007, which coincides with 4-ish years. For all I know, you started on TB and have been lurking since the beginning. Enjoy your pregnancy.

Ditto all this. Ugh.
If she lost her post count is 2008, then that means she has only posted 18 times in 2 1/2 - 3 years...so BP wasn't that far off if I'm understanding you correctly.
Congrats to you and your DH....you must be over the moon with excitement!!
Wishing you all the best!
For serious.
I get what you are saying, I really do. I actually think though that most people were nice and did offer congrats. I don't anyone was totally rude. But that's just me. And I doubt most people know about what happened on TB in 2008, thats a piece of info that isn't common knowledge. I'm sure if BP had known that she would have not said 4. I just think that BP was really nice, not snarky at all. So I didn't understand why the OP started calling names, it seemed uncalled for to me. But to each their own!
I didn't TRY to prove anything with my post. By the board's unwritten definition, she was a drive by. She said she's been here for a long time, I explained why it wasn't perceived that way. I was in no way wrong, mean, or displaying evidence of something was up my hooha in my explanation. YOU, however, are being one petty and miserable beast in pointing out this one little thing about some format change and trying to stick it in my face. I pointed out what appeared to be a fact. I wasn't even on TK back in 2008 to know about this format change and that the post count was lost. And I'm sorry, but there's a big difference between not posting "constantly" and posting in one thread a month. 4 years or 2 and a half - she had 18 posts in the time frame since either her join date or the format change until today. Gah!

i don't want to add fuel to the fire, especially as a newbie to the board myself, but here is my opinion on the "date vs post count" issue:
maybe she was like me, and joined the knot when she got engaged, but never posted there. i joined a long time ago so i could have access to tk, but didn't feel comfortable posting at that time. now that we are more settled down and ttc, i have started posting on my local board and this board. i know she only has a few posts (i know i do too, please don't flame me!) but perhaps she was like me and only just started posting recently.
edit: and for the record, i don't think anyone was being mean to the OP, just tyring to show her she would be better posting at another location. i'm sorry that she took it so badly, it makes us new girls/infrequent posters look bad.
i know, my login should be revoked, i am a horrible bumpie
edit: i am such a bad bumpie, i can't even post correctly! that comment landed itself mid-post. oops
