Go any tips or advice? DH and I both work for small companies that don't offer life insurance. We need to get some, but I don't really know anything about it.

State Farm has great policies - we have 20-year term policies. You have to have a physical, but if you're both in good health, you can get great rates on large amounts.
Check out www.insure.com - they will compare lots of different policies for you. The only complaint I have about them is that they send a LOT of mail to let you know the status of your policy (almost TOO much information). But if you want to compare, it's a good place to start. (But be forewarned - once they get your e-mail/phone #, they are relentless about following up). The up side - we got a great deal (our employer's life insurance policy was not enough)
If you want to email me your info and what y'all are interested in I can do some whole and term quotes for you. I am in Athens and a licensed insurance agent who works for a small firm. heather@costainc.com
We went thru accuquote - they search out the best price for you from a variety of companies. My sister used it and told us about it so we tried it. I also just called places to ask for quotes and accuquote beat the ones I could find.
20yr term, good health, 1mil for $400 a year, i think it ended up being with ING
