I did in January! It was amazing. I loved it there. The staff was excellent. My baby was in the NICU for a week and they were so good with him. They always answered our questions and everyone was very friendly. I don't know the answer to your second question, sorry! Let me know if you have any other specific questions. We live in Howard County now and when we have another baby, we hope to still have it at AAMC.
I had an emergency c section there in 2009 and am having another c there next week. I live in Carroll County now but they were so amazing there, the nurses were amazing and the hospital was great we are sticking with them. I had billing problems and the billing department was even friendly and great to deal with. I highly recommend it.
I don't have an answer for your second question though, sorry. I am guessing that you could call the hospital and ask them or your OB.

I did and I had a great experience. My L&D nurse was so awesome, she really helped me to relax and I give her a lot of credit for me having the birth i wanted. The L&D rooms are very nice, the mom & baby rooms they move you to are a little small but whatever. I will be delivering there again in November and am totally comfortable. i like that they have a great NICU just in case it is needed.
I dont know about your encapsulation question though-I would just call and ask!
Thanks for the responses! I'm planning to deliver there in November. I don't have any specific questions, but I was hoping to hear some positive things. I have heard negative things about their ICU and emergency department, so I wanted to make sure that the labor/delivery area is/was a good place to deliver a baby!
I also delivered there in January (with Bay Area Midwives) and I had a great experience. I was induced at 36weeks due to slow growth. My nurse was great and I really like the L&D rooms. I agree that the mom/baby rooms are a bit small. My DD did not have to go to the NICU, but we were prepared for that. I also live much closer to other hospitals (St. Agnes and Howard County), but chose to make the drive, too.
I had a great experience. The only complaints I have were that during an unsuccessful induction, we felt we had to pull information out of the nurse. Not sure if it was just that particular nurse or what since the nurses when i had DD were great. DH said the bed for him was very uncomfortable. Not that it was about him but if he's going to be there with me it would be nice for where he sleeps to be somewhat comfortable.
I delivered there at the end of April. Overall we had a good experience - although we liked some nurses over others. We had to spend 2 extra nights in the new Pediatric Center due to LO's high levels of jaundice, and I wasn't so thrilled about our experience there. But, as far as L&D goes, I'll be happy to deliver at AAMC again.
