Babies: 6 - 9 Months

I'm sitting on the couch bawling my eyes out

at 1:24 in the afternoon. Why? because H is a douche. I've had plans all week to hang out with my sisters. One lives in Maryland and is only here for a few weeks, the other is in high school but I barely get to see because my mom won't let me see her. I can't drive right now because my license was suspended for stupid crap we're still dealing with. So DH stayed up all night playing his stupid video games and now won't get up to drive me. He knows how big of a deal this is and won't get up for anything. I really shouldn't be crying but I can't stop. I hate that I can't drive. I hate that I can't see my sisters. I hate that this is my one day off and all I get to do is sit here and cry. Ugh. Thanks for letting me vent.

I would be playing pots and pans drums.

Why the heck don't you have your license?

Both of these.  And I'm curious, why won't your mom let you see your sister?

because almost 3 years ago I got a no insurance ticket and here in texas if you get a ticket for that you have to pay a surcharge every year for 3 years. I was never told about the surcharges until last week when I got pulled over and was told my license was suspended from not paying them.

Yeah, there appears to be a lot of other things going on here that aren't included in this post.

My mom is BSC I gave my son up for adoption 4 years ago and hasn't forgiven me and therefore won't let me see the family because of it. (this is the VERY condensed version of the story)

They live 45 minutes away. I don't have enough money for a cab, there is no bus in our city, I don't have a bike or skates.

    Can you take a cab?

This. Or bus? Any stops nearby?

  • Go and wake him up. There's no reason a grown man should be sleeping until 130 in the afternoon .. unless he's working shift work. Too bad if he decided to play video games all night. Fvck, I'd love to stay up all night and sleep all day but guess what? I'm an adult and I have sh!t to do and people to take care of. Tell him to GTF up and drive you.

because I was 19 and dumb. I couldn't afford it and 2 weeks later I was buying a new car and wasn't going to get insurance until then.

he was up all night playing video games?

sounds oh so juvenile. he needs to grow up.

  • Can you go hop onto your DH's back and smack him until he gets up?  Pour water on his head?  Tug on his arm until he falls off the bed?

I know you're upset but sitting there crying isn't going to get his lazy ass out of bed.

    Also, bawling, not balling.

good point. My spelling sucks when I'm upset. I really wasn't thinking about it...

  • I can't believe your husband is being such an ass. Your sister who is visiting from Maryland, does she have a rental car or can she pick you up? Maybe you can try and meet closer to your house?

There is no way he'd get any sleep if I was stuck in the house because of him. I'd be a bigolbitch until he got up.

But I'm not married, so that may be why.

Ditto! He chose to stay up all night when he knew he promised to drive you somewhere the next day.

I guess I could afford it but I was saving up to get a new car since mine was a POS. I didn't want to spend my savings at the time *repeat* I was 19 and dumb.

I've tried waking him up. Turned lights on, put DD on top of him, played music. He just gets up and turns everything off. Put DD back in her crib. He yelled at me (and he never yells). He hasn't done this since DD was a few weeks old and its both of our days off. I know he's tired of driving me around and he's making me feel guilty about my screw up. I'm too tired and pissed off to deal with it. Even if I get him up  I'm pretty sure he won't drive me.

Why does your mom have so much control over your life?  Why don't you have your license?  Why is your H such a massive douche and why do you put up with it?

  • Aside all of the other things said, I'm really sorry you are going through this. I couldn't imagine how difficult it would be to give up your child for adoption then have your mom be mad at you for it. And your husband is a jerk. I would have a lot of things to say to him.

My mom doesn't have control over my life, but she does have control over my sisters when they still live at home. I answered the license question previously and H isn't usually like this. He is very helpful and a SAHD. This is his first day to sleep in in months. I know it sounds bad but he is usually very helpful.

  • Since your H is a huge DB, is there anyway you can call your sisters and see if they will come to you?  And if not today, maybe another day while sister from Maryland is in town?
