any ideas for fun with 1-yr old on Friday?

I'm taking the day off to spend with DS as he turns 1 this weekend (what???), my original plan was to take him to the pool but then I realized it wouldn't be open during the day (not until school lets out). I was going to take him for his 1st ice cream. Any other ideas? Around Ashburn preferred.

Is he walking? Sterling Community Center has a tot drop-in on Fridays. $2.50/adult, kids free. If it's too hot to play outside, that might be a good option, but I'd think it would work best for walkers. Or you could head to Claude Moore Rec Center for the indoor pool.
