Its a Girl
I can honestly say I've never slept so badly in my life - last night I literally watched time pass until this morning and after returning from the scan I tried my best to grab an hour more of sleep before coming into work.
Smart me wants to repeat everything the doctor said at the end of the scan - that everything looks very normal, baby is measuring right on track, congrats and see you next month.
Of course she had to point out the one anomaly - an echogenic intracardiac focus on the baby's heart - she - the most blunt doctor in the world - she then stated that because only that one item was found and nothing else that it was nothing to worry about. I've read about this online and found plenty of reason not to worry - so believe it or not I think I'm ok with this.
The doctor didn't even suggest an amnio - which I found 'comforting' given the fact that she's a perinatologist.
I also paid way too much attention to all of baby's measurements - something I had plenty of time to do with Jane while slowy watching the ultrasounds confirming her condition. I noticed some of baby's measurements were different than others --- enough to freak me out but apparently doc said that all was normal.
So there it is --- good news that I've tainted with a bad prior experience!

Congratulations on your little girl! I think your anxiety is completely normal. Just take it one day at a time and today the doctor says your baby is healthy and growing. BIG HUGS!

Congrats on another little girl! Wonderful news that she's looking good and measureing on track.
I've heard a bunch of people mention the heart anomaly you described. If I remember right, in a lot of cases it works itself out. Its a good sign if they didn't want to do the amnio. Oh & regarding the measurements...our little guy had some that were a little off as well. Basically they were all in the normal range, just some were a much lower percentile. We were also told not to worry about it.
ps. How is it even possible that you're far enough along to be having an a/s already?!?!! Seems like just the other day you were sharing your BFP.
