Those who use fitteds for night time, do you put any fleece or anything to wick moisture away from the bum or for the stay dryer feeling? or do the babies just get used to it? We do prefolds during the day and he takes short naps so we only use pockets at night but starting to leak out of them even with using 2-3 hemp inserts. heavy heavy wetter so we are expanding to the fitted and wool world. Just nervous since he is used to not having the wet cloth on his skin at night if that is going to make him wake up more during the night. (now he sttn about 10 hours)
Do you think it will make a difference?
Re: using fitteds at night....
I usually use a fleece liner in overnight fitteds.
There was a night where I didn't, and it didn't make a difference to DD.
Nikki - did you make your own fleece liners? I need to get/make these for DS to see if it helps his mysterious rashes.
I don't used fitteds - I use prefolds but I had to put fleece between her and the prefolds because she was getting red at night from the wet cotton on her for 10 hours. I suspect teh sme would happen with a fitted. Sounds like lots of mamas have not had that problem. Maybe try it without and then if you have a prob its easy enough to add fleece.
History of IF and 2.5 years TTC. The day we were to start our first IUI we received a call that changed our lives forever and 10 month old Olivia joined our family. Shortly thereafter we got a surprise BFP and baby 2 is due July 5, 2012
DD, who has always been a champion sleeper, started waking up at night when I switched to fitteds overnight. Even with a fleece liner. She was about 17 months old at the time, and had been in disposables exclusively from birth-15 months and then stay-dry pockets overnight since then.
I used fully stay dry fitteds (Very Baby Simply Nights, fleece-lined Happy Hempys) and those worked fine for her.
