Catie's had diarrhea for 2 days and has been pooping what looks like coffee grounds since yesterday evening. I took her to the pedi this morning, but her normal doc is out on paternity leave so we saw someone we've never been to before. Everything I read online says that coffee ground poop is a sign of a possible GI bleed and can be serious business.
The pedi didn't seem concerned at all, she felt her stomach and checked for a fever. Both were fine. We got a stool sample kit (ick!) but even that she said to do in a few days if everything doesn't return to normal.
I know doctors hate when people look stuff up on their own, but I already did and it really freaked me out! Do I need to just chill out or should I go get a second opinion?
