Hi, I'm kinda new to the area and my husband and I are going to really start trying to get pregnant this summer.  I have PCOS and would love if anyone knew of a great gynecologist!!

I didn't have the PCOS issue, but I used Women's Care Group and were very happy with them.  I went to most of my appointments at their office at Mercy West Hospital (at Turkey Creek) and a couple at the UT office.  They have several doctors and I saw most of them during my pregnancy and I was very happy with all that I saw.

I was a bit higher risk because of my age, but I had a very smooth and uncomplicated pregnancy.  They were not for pushing c-sections or inductions so I was happy with that (although I ended up needing to be induced at 40w3d).  I like the fact that they always have one of their doctors on call at UT (they used to deliver at Mercy West as well, but have switched to just delivering at UT) so that you won't be scheduled for an induction to fit the doctors schedule.  I was happy to deliver at UT since they have the NICU, and had a good experience (although I have never admitted to a hospital before so I really have nothing to compare it to).

If you go to the knoxmoms website and post your question there you I am sure that you will get some good recommendations.

    Good Luck

I have PCOS and I am at Contemporary Women's Health and I think they help people while TTC, but I didn't start seeing them until I was already prego.  My primary care doctor (Dr. Ashley Yilitalo) at Family Care Specialists got me on Metformin about a year ago and I was able to lose a significant amount of weight and really just got the most wonderful surprise a couple months ago when we found out.  I know Contemporary Women's Health is good with dealing with higher risk pregnancies...thats why I chose them, since I do have PCOS.  GL!  I know how frusterating it can be!

I'm 41 years old and my husband and I tried to get pregnant for several years on our own before we discovered Dr. Doody.  Don't let the name steer you away.  Amazing office and wonderful staff.  We got pregnant once but unfortunately MC but got pregnant again while under his care and we are now 21 weeks along.  They are so invested in you and that is what I think set them apart.  Here is a link...

We were under his care and saw him twice a week until we were safely through our first trimester.  I found my OB/GYN Dr. Zite through the UT Hospital website because we want to deliver there.  She is AMAZING!!  Good luck to you!!

I also have PCOS and had a difficult time conceiving. I go to Dr. Yang at Contemporary Women's Health. She is absolutely wonderful. Everyone in the office is always very helpful. Dr. Yang really cares about her patients. When I was diagnosed with PCOS, I thought it was the end of the world. She quickly explained options for me to still be able to conceive a child. She put me on Metformin for the PCOS. I'm happy to say that under her care, I've been able to conceive after 2 years of trying. Best wishes to you!

I also go to Dr. Doody, and here I am pregnant! They are fertility specialists and high-risk related. My regular OB is Dr. Many at Generations OBGYN, and they are also wonderful.  They referred me to Dr. Doody, and I think you HAVE to get a referral to go.  I personally know of l5 people with success stories with him, and I highly recommend him as well. Good luck!

I would also recommend Dr. Michael Doody.  My husband and I tried for almost 2 years to get pregnant and couldn't (I started trying when I was 29 yrs old).  I had friends that had seen Dr. Doody, and my OB/GYN referred me to him.  He was a wonderful physician, thorough and was straightforward but also supportive.  And I am happy to say that I now have a 2 1/2 month old son!  Best of luck in your search for the right doctor for you.
