Clicky poll: Another photo 'would you'

For the record, I'm not planning on doing these photos I post.  Just honestly curious what people think of them.

So - would you ever:

  • If it wasn't clear by the tone of my post, I'm in the hellz no category.  Perhaps it is partially because I'm a klutz, and a worst case scenario thinker, not to mention that I feel like whenever I think of what will go wrong, I subliminally make sure it does go that way....  yikes!

  • That is just insane.
  • Cute, but I can't really imagine actually doing it.

  • I wouldn't do it but I'm sure DH wouldn't bat an eye bc he's that confident in his kid tossing skills.  Confused  I hate it but Evan does squeel with delight.  It also may not be as high as it looks from that angle.  I would think though that the chances of dropping would be better if only one person was involved.  Throwing your kid back and forth between two is probably a little more challenging...I don't know- I'll never find that one out!!

  • "I" wouldn't do it, but DH does. Addison loves it too. I actually just took a pic of him tossing her into the air. She looks like she's really high but in fact she is only about 8- 8.5 ft in the air, and DH is 6.5 so she's not that far from his hands ( his arms ate extended all the way out and she's about 6 inches out of his arms). It's a cute picture because her face is just pure joy and laughter.

Yeah, but I think like pp said, you have a tad more control when you're the one tossing & catching (and not tossing all that far out of your grasp.  Stuff like that still makes my heart stop a bit, especially when dads do it with truly young ones, but I still think it's safer when you're the only one involved.

Totally agree. I wouldn't let anyone do like the picture you found. Too many uncontrolled variables. It does freak me out sometimes when DH does it with DD.
  • I have a photo of Dh doing something similar to that photo with DS. He throws DS around all the time. Also, it looks way higher than it really is due to the camera angle. That said, there's no way in heck I would do that. I'm incredibly uncoordinated. I can't even go a week without falling. There's no way I would do that to DS on the off chance I might drop him.
  • I *might* consider doing it with an older kid (over 2 at least) but that baby looks like she's way under a year!  I feel like Quinn would bounce back from an accidental miss on my part, but we'd be rushing to the ER with Piper!

  • We have "tossed" Declan, but only very short distances and not high.  And I only pass to DH, I refuse to catch.  DH is awesome at catching babies, baseballs, whatever.  But yeah, I wouldn't do a photo exactly like that...

  • Clearly, I need coffee, because my first thought was "well, maybe, but we'd have to practice first."

Cause, you know, practicing would be totally safer than actually doing it Huh?
