My OB appt this past Friday & my friend had her baby

I had my regular appt on Friday and it went well!

She gave me a requisition for my GT test... Tongue Tied I hope I pass, I hope I pass, I hope I pass. I guess I will go Saturday morning.

She measured my bump and explained that I should measure around 1 cm for every week of pg. Well, I measured 29 cm's. Ooops. She says: "Oh, 29 - well, that's ok!"

I was also dreading getting weighed and I've gained 5 lbs since my last appt, so that's good! I've gained 12 lbs since I started seeing her at 16w, so I think I've gained almost 20 in all so far.

Then we got to listen to LO with the doppler! That's always my favourite part of the appt. Here's something funny: the hr has been measured at 153 bpm three times in a row now! Baby already takes after his mom, very consistent!

And for some good news - my friend had her baby yesterday morning! She has had three losses since the summer of 2009 and finally has her take home baby! So happy for her.

I learned from my amazing OB(the one I had to leave due to the layoff) that the bump height can change depending on where your LO is. At my last few appts, I ws measuring about a week behind but he likes to hang low.

That's fantastic for your friend! And yay for your LO having a strong HB, my OB has never told me that I'm measuring on or off, but I have a month to go and am already north of my 'target gain', nobody seems concerned b/c i've been eating well. I passed my glucose test, so a big baby/ute/weight gain doesn't always mean GD. Good luck!

Wow 25 weeks already, where does the time go.

I wouldn't worry about the 29 cm too much, usually they expect you to = the number of weeks +/- 2 and they can also measure from different spots sometimes.

So glad all went well at your appointment! I think I'm measuring ahead too with that measuring tape thing, but on the u/s he's right on target. My doctor said he was fine with having a larger baby to deliver...ummm, ouch! I hope you are well and don't have too long until you are finished with work. I'm jealous that you'll be off next year. I think I may need to return to Canada for the maternity leave benefits!
