So DH and I can't agree on whether to find out the sex of the baby. I don't want to and he does. We were talking last night and I askd him why he wanted to find out so badly. His response was, "so we won't have to return the wrong gender clothes that people buy us." Ummm... I'm pretty sure people won't buy gender-specific clothes if we don't know what it is. And if they do, they are idiots!! This isn't really going to happen, right?? Please tell me our friends and family aren't this clueless. And, I'm sorry DH, but this isn't a good enough reason to find out the gender!!!
Ok, little vent over.
Re: Lamest excuse ever... little DH vent
H and I keep on going back and forth whether or not we'll be finding out the sex at the end of the month. It's kind of douchy but I want to find out and tell no one. He thinks we won't be able to keep it a secret. I tend to agree.
Hope you two come to an agreement!
Some people will buy "one of each" because they think its a cute idea-- it happened to my sister a few times. Not a ton of stuff, but it definitely happened.
Are you against him finding out and you not? If he can keep the secret, I say let him know-- its his baby too right? But if he will blab, then I'd say don't even bring up that idea.
We actually agree on one thing - either we both find out and tell everyone or don't find out at all.
We were team green with DS and only my mom bought clothes and only when she was out shopping with me.
We actually purchased both boy and girl clothes for DS because I couldn't find ANY gender neutral stuff that we liked. I actually kept all the girl stuff because I figure with as many kids as we want (3 or 4), chances are that someday we will have a little girl.
DH really wants to find out, along with many family memebers. I am on the fence. I am even half tempted to tell the technician to lie to DH at the scann and say she can't determine at this time! LOL.
Maybe when I get closer I will get more wanting to know.
I don't know about if other people will buy you gender specific clothes, but won't you buy some?? If it's a girl, you don't want to be prepared with a dress? Or a cute truck or sports outfit for a boy? My mom didn't know what she was having with all of her children and she had bought some gender neutral and some gender specific clothes that she just had to return half of them. I couldn't imagine dressing my baby in only gender neutral clothes.
I don't plan on buying anything gender-specific until after the baby's born- I hate having to make returns (and half the time, don't). There's plenty of time to buy that kind of stuff once the baby's here- a whole lifetime, in fact!
