Mederma Use/Safety

Has anyone heard from their OBGYN whether or not Mederma is safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding?

I'm not sure about the safety, but just be aware that it smells like onions. Not a big deal while you are staying home, but I wish someone had told me before I bought mine. I work in close quarters with others, and even a small amount seemed noticeable.
