Update on J's newborn screen

I never updated about what happened this week! It was crazy. The pedi's office called while we were packing on Wednesday afternoon and said that the same results came back and we needed further bloodwork done. His bloodwork came back showing that he may have the auto immune disease SCID (what the bubble boy had). The pedi had already spoken with an immunolgist (sp?) and he was 95% sure there was nothing wrong, but needed more tests to confirm it.

The pedi emailed me today to say that everything came back normal and that she feels there is no cause for concern at all and she will fax the results over for the specialist to review.

It is a huge relief and if you google SCID, you'll see why I M so very glad that I didn't know what the problem was. It is a scary thing and we probably would have cancelled our trip thinking he'd get sick from the plane.
