Trying to Get Pregnant

Have a doctor aptmt tomorrow with new ob/gyn - fingers crossed!

I will be going to a new ob/gyn tomorrow and while I just had my pap in October by another ob - I knew I wouldn't stay with him to get me through a pregnancy.  We decided to try the month after my pap so I didn't get my Rx but I have had 2 miscarriages and have a genetic issue - a MTHFR gene mutation so I hope the new doctor listens to me and my concerns.

I'm scared to go to a woman doctor again - a male delivered my son and the female doctor I went to before him knew about both miscarriages and wouldn't do additional blood work.  She told me to have one more miscarriage, then we would see what was going on.  That pissed me off so I switched doctors and the new male doctor found the gene mutation and gave me a Rx for 4mg of Folic Acid and the next month I got pg with DS.

I have my records, etc. from my old doctor and this woman has rave reviews but since my old doctor diagnosed us with IF issues I hope this new woman listens and will help us instead of acting like the first female gyno.  I'm nervous but excited.  I hope it goes well!

  • Good luck!  I am sure this one will go better for you than the last female you saw.  You have a LOT more information now than you did the last time you saw one.  Just be confident in yourself when you go in, and don't take no for an answer!  Remember, this is your body, and your baby.
