XP from 3T

Hello there wonderful ladies!

For anyone who had more than one IVF, could you tell me how long your RE made you wait in between cycles? Any requirements or things like that? I know every RE is different and everyone's experiences are different but any insight would help. We are hoping to start BCPs again mid July and cycle the second week of August after vacation. Does this seem unrealistic? Thanks so much!

I did IVF #1 in April with ER on 4/20 and ET on 4/25. We got the BFN on May 4th. I got back on the BCP for IVF #2 on May 15th and IVF #2 will start wth stimming on June 7th.

One cycle in between. I will start Lupron most likely the end of next week and stims a week or so after that.

He said for a FET he would go right away, but a fresh cycle he wants 1 cycle in between.

I always had to have one natural period after my BFN before starting BCPs for 3 weeks, so it was almost 2 months from BFN to starting stims again.

My RE has usually prescribed a month between cycles. They start me on BCPs right after AF rears her ugly head following the BFN, and we are able to cycle the very next month. When we wanted to cycle right away he advised us that it was a bad idea and said that the if you could see the ovaries after an IVF cycle you would know that they are very raw and traumatized and the month break gives it some time to heal. He did however say that in certain cases they do make exceptions to this and it is usually if there are concerns because of a woman's age. Best of luck!

I was required to have one natural cycle after BFN for IVF #1 before getting to start BCP for IVF #2... which turned into IUI. After the IUI BFN, I didn't have to take a month off. After IVF #2.2, we would have been required to have another natural cycle, but we switched doctors and it was my work busy season so we waited longer.... the wait drove me crazy, but I'm glad it was worth it. My RE wanted me to have one natural cycle (after the BFN) before cycling again.

I was able to wait one cycle between IVFs, but I needed to wait 2 cycles for a m/c. GL.

I'm going to go back to back if this cycle doesn't work. we did a fresh IVF with a transfer yesterday. I go in for an early beta at 5dp5dt. If it's negative, I'll start ganirelix for 4 days then star stimming again for another go. They didn't say anything about waiting.

THank you for all your answers and here is another question. I dont ovulate so i dont know if i will get a natural period after this. I am bleeding now and assume this is it. And then assume i will need to take provera to get AF to start the bcp's and then get another flow that i'll start stims on. Im guessing that August would be a good time line. THere is more then enough time for me to get the Provera in. Does this sound right to you?

I haven't done IVF yet, but I wanted to say sorry for your loss. I'm hoping to be starting BCP in mid-July also and cycling in August. Maybe we can be cycle buddies.

Mine was always at least one cycle in between. Couple that with the lab schedule (that closes 4x a year for routine cleaning and inspection) and the occasional leftover cyst that can delay things, it doesn't always work out to be just one cycle. Not to be a debbie downer - I just want to make sure you are prepared if you go in there hoping to start in July, and something holds you back another month.

I'd call the nurse and ask. If you know you have long anovulatory cycles in advance, you might be able to ask for a script for provera in advance and a date for how early you can start it.
