Do YOU need someone to mow/ clean/ prep meals so that you can spend more time checking in on him?
YES, this! What do you need? We're here to help!!
Thanks guys. I appreciate it, but we'll be OK. I might call on some people to watch my kids if I need to make a trip.
MIL is staying with him in his lovely (sarcasm) hotel for the entire week to drive him to/from work and to make sure that he's taken care of (liquid foods, etc.) The kids and I are OK.
Don't get me wrong--I'm incredibly happy that his surgery went without complications, and that it was done to potentially ward off a more serious condition. However, now he has zero vacation time. Zilch. The used it during his hospital stay. Vacation we were planning with the kids to get away because we never see each other? Gone. Money saved up for said vacation? Gone to pay a portion of the copay. The kids haven't seen him for 2 weeks, and now it will be 3 weeks. Unfortunately I can't bring them to Houston to see him this weekend because I took a church job to make some extra money. I've already tried to give the job to another organist, but everyone who is qualified is already booked. So yeah, I'm sulking and the kids are pretty upset about not seeing daddy this weekend.
(((hugs))) I cannot believe they are threatening to fire him. This is so ridiculous.
Please forward his resume to me. My BFF's husband is a VP for a company that does the same work that your DH does. I would be happy to pass his resume on to my friend's DH. It's not local in Austin, but it would be a much better environment than he's in now.
I'm so glad your MIL is able to help out right now. I'm sorry the vacation isn't an option right now, but maybe later on in the year you can all get away for a long weekend.
I'm sick to my stomach for you! It's amazing how heartless some people can be. It always makes me wish I could make those people change places. I hope that your husband gets better soon!
Is there a way to take time off *after* he's been there for 12 months. Kind of a delayed short term disability? I don't really think that's possible, but hey, it's worth a shot.

I can't even believe that what his workplace is doing is legal.
Wow.
So sorry for all that your family is going through right now.
