SS - My DH doesn't watch porn. He did a lot when he was in HS, but doesn't anymore. I would, however, have a huge problem with him watching it to satisfy himself instead of coming to me.
I like the poll.... lol. Porn is proven in studies to be good for sperm, so if you're going to pile on the B6, Pom, green tea, etc... just add it to the list of TTC-friendly things you're doing, right? Let the guys help out...

Funny that you posted this because I just found out that my DH watched porn last night when I was sleeping. I'm half and half with it, it some what bothers me that he watches it then again I don't really care. So right now idk if I should be pissed at that or the fact that he didn't do the dishes lol.

haha. very good point. never thought about it like that before.
I'm not a huge fan, but it doesn't bother me too much. I am just curious why it is in men's nature to watch it, even when they are married. I have talked to DH about it, but he gets all embarrassed about it.
I basically hate Porn. I caught DH watching it once after we were first married and I was livid... it was ok in High School, but when I found him sneaking around it really hurt. I think it would be different if he would have been open about it

I'm not aware of my DH watching porn. Maybe he does, but I don't know about it! I don't really want him to, because it's an industry that I really don't support. You can always read pornographic stories instead. Dirty versions of fairytales are pretty fun
He also grew up in East Germany, and I have a feeling that if he did something as naughty as watching porn, he'd have to go punish himself (think Dobby in HP), LOL.
(No, not really, people.)

I'm okay with it now but I didn't used to be. The fact is that most men are visual creatures when it comes to sex. To the PP that said "why not read dirty stories"... I think women like reading dirty stories or erotica but it doesn't have the same appeal to men.
Another solution: make your own porn together. I'm not sure if MH watches other porn now, and I don't really care. I know that sometimes he looks at videos or pictures that we've made together, and that's fine by me (but I don't like looking at them... makes me too self-conscious).
Not aware if DH watches it or not and I mostly don't care. I think what would bother me is if he is/does watch it and goes out of his way to hide it from me then I feel like there is something to be upset about. Otherwise it's not a big deal.
I hate it. More often than not it turns into addiction and then men are not as easily stimulated by their wives. Also, the porn industry often takes advantage of women.
I chose I'm not a huge fan but it doesn't bother me too much. Really the only reason I don't like him watching porn is because it gives him unrealistic expectations of sex. I think that's a common complaint about the porn industry in general. It doesn't really bother me *too* much that he's watching other girls because I know they're porn stars and get paid for what they do.
He hasn't watched porn much since we got together so I'm not too concerned about it.

I do enjoy porn on occasion, and I really couldn't care less if DH watches it. I watch it without him, sometimes

I'm a SS, I really hate porn from my own personal past issues, but DH loves it so he watches it without me. It's something that I don't really say much about unless it starts to encroach on our sex life.

I'm in between the last two options. I have done it before, but it does bother me. But I tried it and didn't complain while we were watching. Then afterwards I told him I didn't like it and we havent' done it since (even though he still asks sometimes). I just can't handle him looking at other women when we are going at it, it goes against the intimacy of the act for me. To each their own on this one though! And also, I don't care if he watches it by himself once in a while. Its kind of an "out of sight, out of mind" thing for me.

I would expect dh to watch it without me. He's a guy. Every guy does. And when were in the mood, well watch it together. It doesn't bother me at all and I even enjoy it sometimes.

Me and my SO are really open sexually. I think everybody has watched porn at least once so it is something him and I aren't afraid to talk about. This is going to sound weird (it'll be my guilty confession for the week) but him and I watch it together sometimes. It's not as awkward as it sounds I promise lol, I recommend everybody do it at least once, it adds something fun into your sex life (plus what have you got to lose?) ?:)

I'd love to see the studies where this was the result. And not one from a bunch of religious freaks- legit medical studies. That is probably one of the most ignorant things I have ever read. It ranks right up there with saying everyone who drinks is going to be an alcoholic and will kill someone in a drunk driving accident. Or everyone who gambles is going to end up losing everything. Negative. Those people are exceptions- as are the porn addicts.
No, it doesn't. I never said "everyone" gets addicted, and I would never say anything close to what you are implying I would. I personally know several people who have struggled with this and it has affected my life and those of people close to me. Maybe I shouldn't have said "more often than not", but it is just as ignorant for you to compare my statement to ignorant absolute statements which are totally not on the same level.
And just because not everyone gets addicted does not mean that it does not subtly affect their expectations of the women in their life - I still don't like it, whether there is an addiction or not. I recognize I have no proof of this, but I respect your opinion, and I would ask you to respect mine.

A quick google search turned up quite a few studies suggesting just that - that pornorgraphy can be more addicting then coccaine or heroin. And of these few studies that came up (I am careful typing the word pornography into my search engine, so I didn't do a lot of researching) none of them were done by so-called religious freaks. Most were done by university professors, pychologists, people associated with the US Senate, etc, etc....

Lol, my best friend and I watched Paris Hilton's sex tape together. Hey, we were curious!

I voted that I'm fine with it, as long as I watch it with him.
On very rare occasions.
