I wanted DS's name to be Holden. Liam's induction was scheduled on the day Salinger passed away and I had just started Catcher before my sub took over. His death seemed so symbolic to me that I couldn't name him Holden.

DS is Declan (pronounced DECK-lynn), which is one of the few Irish boys names we found that wasn't too popular. We also looked at Eamon, Cormac, Ciaran, Eoin (pronounced like Owen), and Keagan.

DS's name is "Skylar". Some dumb people mispronounce it though.

My brother's name is "Shane" and my husband is "Beau". I know they are one syllable but they are unique.

I adore Elliot and am so bummed it's skewing girl right now. DH has a unisex name that skews feminine and it's been a big issue for him all his life so we don't want to do that to any future DS.

My favorite boy names were: Atticus, Simon, George, August (or Augustus), Asher, and Samson. Luckily we had a girl b/c DH and I could only agree on Samson, and that was after a lot of negotiating.
