Things people are saying....

that are driving you nuts!

I think next time a family or friend says baby will come when he's ready.. i might flip out lol.... and then strap on a 9 month belly on them and H cup boobs and see how they feel when i say that to them

Re: Things people are saying....

  • Every.single.person at work and at daycare says every morning, "Oh still here, huh?  I thought for sure you would have had that baby by now!"  Ugh.

  • This is not something people are saying.. but whenever i come to the school to pick up DS.. you get the looks and stares...

Oh another thing.. i love it when people say LOOK how huge or big you are.

  • "Are you just SO ready to get this over with?!"

I can not stand when people say this!!  Because actually no, I'm not! I'm enjoying being pregnant and know what a miracle it is so stop rushing it!

  • Np mrs castillo

i think a slight vent thread was in order lol

oh yes this one too i agree .. especially if it's a family member or friend i hate repeating myself..

  • Yesterday, I received a call from a friend informing me that LO was on her way because she had a dream about it... really?  LO wouldn't be on her way because my due date is in 7days now would it?

For some reason it really irritates me when people say "Are you excited"? Idk why but it just does. DUH i'm excited. Ive been carrying this baby for 36 weeks now!

  • As much as i am so greatful to be pregnant.... im so ready to meet this lil guy now i think my fellow 39 weekers will agree!
  • And another one... if one more person says to me "Oh your due is August? You are going to be so miserable during the summer months." Just what I want to hear...
  • I get the arent you glad you arent due in summer... well yes i am.. but do you remember i was due in summer with my first.. i know what it was like
  • LOL...

I swear, I'm going to make a note of all this. I find EVERYTHING about pregnancy to be hilarious (yes, even the painful parts because I never would have thought I would be complaining about my belly button hurting in a million years).

But things that I could definitely go without hearing:

-You must have twins in there! (aka... you look massive, you huge elephant cow you)

-Oh, you'll find out! (aka... you have NO IDEA what you're getting yourself into and I'm so excited to hear you complain about how awful motherhood is gonna be).

-You've gained too much weight (--my doctor said this to me. there is no AKA to this... it just makes me sad.)

  • I got this gem the other day from a "friend"

"You look like one of those starving African kids on the commercials, skinny everywhere except their bloated belly."

And that was supposed to be a compliment.

I hear that ALL the time too! "OH you're going to be pregnant all summer? You're going to be miserable, and swollen and sweaty!"

Which I usually respond with, "there's this amazing invention called air conditioning and swimming pools so I think I'll be just fine."

  • I hate when people ask me how I'm feeling.  I don't really mind if it's someone that I haven't seen or heard from in a while but when my mom or MIL phone to ask me EVERYDAY how i'm feeling I get really irritated.

I also hate that my MIL has taken to saying " everything will be ok" lately.  I never once thought anything wouldn't be ok..but for some reason she just keeps saying "everything will be ok" every time I talk to her.

And I hate when I'm talking to my mom and shes like " you should do xyz to get the baby out" I'm like..no the baby will come when it comes and no matter what I do if it's not ready it's just going to waste my energy.  Also I hate when my MIL or mom will phone me up at 8am to tell me they had a dream that they baby was born.  Or today, my MIL phoned me up to tell me a stork flew over her house.  First of all I think it was a Heron, and second if this baby was going to be born everytime there was a "sign" it would have been born like 10 times over.

I want to just yell " JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!"

  • My own nana my dads mom. made a fat joke when she came to visit me.. and she's like oh im just joking.. i was errr as much as i love her.
  • "oh well when I was pregnant I didn't do that I *insert whatever the hell they did that was SO much better for the baby than what I do*"

  • Again with the due in August thing... "Well, you didn't plan that very well." Ummm actually, I didn't plan anything and this pregnancy is courtesy of cabernet sauvignon. Should I ask the doctor if I can just let the baby cook for a couple extra months until its a little cooler outside?
  • People and i think all can agree.. need to think sometimes before they speak aka family/friends/coworkers etc!
  • Yesterday I picked up MIL for lunch and when she opened the door she said "Hey there big lady."  And the day before that my mom's boyfriend called me "fatso."  I'm 37.5 weeks with a uterus measuring at 43.  Yes, I'm big around the belly.  Stop commenting on it.

I work at a museum where we have tons of volunteers and one of my co-workers asked me if I was going to bring the baby in  to work after I gave birth to help volunteer. It may just be my irritable hormones, but I looked at her like she was a complete idiot. Yes, lady, I'm going to turn my infant into a slave laborer. Ugh...people are so stupid! This same lady has also asked me (in baby talk voice) about four times what my due date is. Why do you care, woman!

  • Every time I see my mom she asks me if I'm taking my vitamins. I don't know what her obsession is with it. I've told her over and over that I take them every night. I probably shouldn't let it bother me but that is the ONLY thing she ever asks me about this pregnancy. Though she does tend to throw in comments about how big I'm getting.

Wait, I forgot. She does like to ask me about questions about my boobs...in front of my dad and whoever else.

  • The latest, from my mom.  She for whatever reason loves big bellies and big babies- the bigger the better, IDK why.  So she asks me after every apt "any estimates on weight or how big the baby will be?" and I told her "well OB doesn't think this one will be as big as DS, and honestly neither do I".  Her response?!?  "well, you're tall so you can hide a lot of baby in there"  Angry

  • "You look like you are about to pop!"  followed by, "Just don't do it here!"  Yes, like I have plans to go into labor in this unsanitary place with all of you nincompoops gawking at me.  That's totally a part of my birth plan, but thanks for the redirection.  I'll try to find somewhere else to have my baby since you told me not to have it here.

I had a friend on FB post on one of my pictures, "You're getting HUGE!" That didn't feel very good even though I know she didn't mean anything by it.

  • So far no one is really annoying me or saying stupid things to me. Everyone keeps telling me I look fantastic when they comment on my pregnancy. Can't really get upset about that. Though I would really like it if my mother would stop gushing over the baby and stop referring to it as "our" baby, but I am not a sentimental person to begin with so that's probably why I am annoyed.

My DH said this months ago- haha. He meant "wow, you're all belly" but I believe it was even prefaced with "I told so-and-so it's like National Geographics"

Gah! I get this all the time too! I do retort with the pool thing. I just remind them we live in the Midwest and would be miserable no matter what, what's the diffrence being pg?!

This.  I'm sorry, but leaking, painful boobs, sleepless nights, and cramping is NOT enjoyable!

  • I'm annoyed by the "if you think you're tired now..." comments, and all the unsolicited parenting tips. I know I'm a FTM but I'm not completely clueless and yes there are things I still need to figure out but also, just because you have a 3 month old it doesn't make you a parenting expert either...

  •  I WAS feeling pretty good, because I started out pre-preggers over weight (started out @ 170), but have only gained about 4lbs. Everything just redistributed to my boobs and belly so in the right outfit or a head shot or whatever, I look skinnier than before. (BTW - the doctor says I am fine on my weight gain and the baby is measuring big anyways, so don't think I'm starving my little darling).

so...just today I was in Walgreens and the lady checking me out had a comment. After asking my due date and me replying Aug 30, she looked at my belly long and hard then back at me and said, "oh honey how big you gonna get?!" Really, lady? thanks for making me feel like crap

Then, of course, you have my sensitive and sweet(all sarcasm intended) brother who has actually called me up to ask when I was going to the beach so he could alert the coast guard that it isn't a beached whale on shore, just his preggo sister. How nice is that? grrrr.....

  • My MIL treats/talks to everyone like they are 5 years old. I get really annoyed by this. Especially the other day when she saw me and used her baby voice to ask me, "Have you been doing your kegels?"

I almosted LOLed... I simply answered yes but wanted to say, "Yes, thanks for asking about the status of my vagina exercises... Like that is any of your business."

  • Even the simple "How are you feeling?" bothers me! I keep saying the same thing over and over to people and I just feel like a broken record!

I also loathe the people who say "Get your rest now, while you can". Excuse me, but I am up peeing every two hours, so my rest is already long gone and you're telling me it's going to get worse? Thanks!

  • I was asked a few nights ago if " I was expecting?". Ummmm, personally I think I look like I'm pregnant (I am 8 months pregnant - it's not like I'm only a few months along) . Her friend nudged her and said " I think it's obvious that she is". And her response was " well you don't want to offend anyone by assuming".
