It was an eventful visit today at the OB
Blood pressure got way higher. They monitored Finley to be sure she's doing OK with my high BP. She is doing well still...
Sent for blood work to check if it's affecting my platelets and liver enzymes (pre-e or Hellp) and should know more tonight on if she has to induce. Still no protein showing up in my quick urine sample. Hoping the blood work is good because she said an induction right now (my cervix is only dilated to a one and not so soft) could cause stress to me and baby, be drawn out and lead to a c- section. She really does not want to induce but said if the blood work comes back bad she will admit me tonight to start Cervadil try try and ripen my cervix and start the induction in the morning. Praying for good blood work results.
If we avoid the induction tonight I am set up for more monitoring on Monday. If the blood pressure is still this high or goes up more she may induce then and told me to bring my hospital bags just in case because even if it is not pre-e it is at a dangerously high number ![]()
If she thought my cervix would cooperate through an induction it wouldn't be so scary but even she said would likely result in a c-section.
Plus since Finley is a tiny baby, only 5 lbs 1 oz right now, some extra time to cook would be much better. Hopefully she can get that. They did say that the estimate can be off. Hopefully off to where she is bigger and not smaller though.
Ugh. I'm just done with this already..I want to be a normal Mom.

This. I know you don't want a c-section honey... and I would never wish one on anyone... but it may be the safest option for you and Finley. Don't project yet. Just wait and see. I know that's so hard... especially after so long on bedrest and the up & down BP. *Hugs* we're all thinking of you, and will keep doing so until we know you and Finley are both okay!

I pray that her size measurements are off and she is bigger! And you ARE a "normal" mom!! You are worrying about your baby and just want the best for her. There is absolutely nothing wrong with how you feel, hang in there! I hope your bloodwork comes back good and you don't have to be induced so soon! Take care and keep your head up! We are all thinking about you!!
T&P to you and your family.
I know that you are probably scared of her coming so soon and are worried about her weight, but it honestly sounds to me like your doctor is freaking top notch! The doctor cares enough about you and the baby to look at your bishop's score before starting an induction which I had never even heard about before these boards so I don't know if that is done often or not. Anyway, I am rambling but wanted to say that I will be thinking of you and baby Finley and know that things will work out. I hope your BP goes down and you can wait a few more days before she comes.
Think of how far you and baby girl have come...
thanks y'all. I know it will all be OK in the end, it's just getting there.
I was hoping that since I've had such a sh*tty pregnancy to get a break with an easy labor. Looks like that may not happen. Let's hope for an easy baby then. I need my break!
Then again. The induction stories from the other day were encouraging.
I just REALLY hope that 5lbs is a lower estimate and she can come home and not have to stay

Her weight won't be an issue. Her lungs is what would keep her at the hospital and if your OB thought that was an issue they would've shot you up with steroids already. Stay positive that little girl is fine! You have done a great job!

I'm so sorry your BP is acting up. I hope your blood work comes back quickly and all within normal ranges. If not, just know that you've done everything and anything in your power for your little girl, you have already shown you are an excellent mother, not just a normal mother!
Don't let this get you down. However Finley finally comes will be the way she was always met to come, and you'll have your little girl in your arms soon. C-section or vaginal, it'll all be over soon enough and the doctors are taking really really good care of you and her. They've helped you keep her cooking for 16 weeks and they will help you have a perfectly beautiful healthy baby.
Good luck hun. Sending you lots of virtual hugs! Keep us posted while you can.

i completely understand how you feel! I feel the same way. it's like one more complication after another. and isn't it a bit odd that you had to go through so much trouble because they didnt think your cervix could keep her in there and now they are saying they dont think your cervix will let her out?!?!? ugh! i would be so upset, too.
just so u know, my drs freaked out about my BP and talked about inducing me at 34w4d and a week later they were talking about letting me go to 38 weeks. the bottom number of my BP was 105 this past weekend and it's hardly gone over 90 since then. So things CAN get better! i do hope you're able to relax a little tonight and I will pray that tomorrow goes well!
Did they do a NST? When will they hear about your blood work? It seems odd that they didn't send you to L&D so that they could process your blood work on site and have answers for you today. Are you having any right quadrant pain? Headache?
Just to encourage you, when I had HELLP, and they decided to induce, I was only fingertip dilated. My induction lasted eight hours and DD was born vaginally. Don't let stress cause you to question your ability to deliver your LO the way you wish to.
Keep us updated and best wishes.
ETA: Just read your update post. Good news
Rest well tonight.
