What brand of pureed food do you buy?

LO started out with Gerber 1st stage. Just bought few bottles of Earth's Best Organic. Waiting to try it out tonight. I checked out the ingredient label last night and Gerber's carrot puree had "carrot, water, citric acid" wherelse Earth's Best was "carrots, citric acid"

What brand do you usually buy? Just wondering if anyone had any preference or recommendations.

  • I think we get Beechnut just because it comes in the smallest jars right now. It's the perfect size for her meals.

  • We do Gerber and Earth's Best. Just depends on what's on sale. I think the organic in Earth's Bests comes from how the veggies were grown??

We've also tried Ella's. They come in a really cool pouch and an interesting mix of veggies and fruits. She really loves the one with sweet potatoes, blueberries, pumpkin and apples. They are definitely more expensive though.

  • We use Gerber, simply bc nestle makes it and DH aunt works at nestle so we get it extremely cheap.

  • I mostly make my own, but I like to buy a small jar to have DD try before I make 10-15oz of something. I use Earth's Best or Plum Organics. It's weird that your Earth's Best says citric acid on it, because my Earth's Best just says "Organic Carrots, Water." I checked Gerber's Organic line and they added all this crazy stuff in it like gelatin, that's why I stuck with Earth's Best, but like I said I make most of my own purees.

  • We usually grab beech nut, because here it's cheaper than earth's best and all it says ingredients wise for the simple fruits veggies is whatever fruit/veggie it is and water.

  • PS if you "like" Gerber's on FB they often have coupons. The one today was Buy 3 2nd foods, get 1 free. And if you sign up for Beech Nut's website they e-mail coupons frequently. I also got one for a free 4th foods item up to $3.00 value in the mail which fortunately doesn't expire until next March since it will be awhile before DS hits 4th foods.
