XP:Toddler dance classes

toddler dance classes

I posted this on the regular board, got a ton of views but no replies. Hopefully someone over here has a suggestion or two.

I'm looking into enrolling Ds in dance eventually since he finds so much joy in dancing.....rather wiggling around to music right now.

Please suggest place to take him. I'm looking in the Katy general area, though it could be out of the area as well. I don't want him to have to do "company" or anything more than classes.

Also, at what age do you generally start them? I thought 2-3 years, but that might be more for those who are wanting their child to be in it for competition and for the long haul. I want some place where I can take him while he still enjoys it. I'm sure once he gets older and gets more involved in sports in school, the classes will stop.

And for those curious, Dh supports it. He knows the benefits, and the possible teasing for a boy taking dance both to us and DS.

Re: XP:Toddler dance classes

  • I don't have any suggestions for the Katy area, but in Pearland most creative dance classes start around 2.5 years. That's when Rena started dance. There are several boys that take dance at Rena's dance school and they looked so cute at the recital! :) That's great your DH supports it. I hope you find a place to take him!

  • Other than mommy and me type classes I do not know of any dance studios that start them that young.
  • My friend takes her 2 year old son to Boni's Babies or Boni's Dance in The Woodlands.  That is kind of far for you I'm sure though.

  • I bring my daughter to Tiny Tutu's at The Motherhood Center.  Such a great class where you can join in as well.  They do have a couple going on right now and the teacher is amazing.
