Newborn Pics

I still have an inside baby but I know a photographer here in town that just e-mailed me with her quote and I was curious to see what other people are paying and what they are getting.

If you don't mind sharing, how much was your session and what all did it include?

TIA!

Re: Newborn Pics

  • My photographer usually charges $200-250 for a session. That includes sitting fee, online gallery, editing, image ownership, etc. We would spend 1.5-2 hours taking photos.

Fortunately, I've been working with her for so long, our sessions are free because it was her baby gift to us :)

Ours is $75 for the entire session and a CD with all edited and original images and rights to them. It is for a 2-4 hour session. Its less expensive because photography is her hobby and doesn't have a studio. She uses her house, so no rent to pay!
  • Our in-hospital session is $75, and a CD with all images and printing rights is $75.  So super reasonable!

Photo birth announcements are like $1.55/ea which I also think is cheap- plus it's just one less thing for me to obsess over creating on my own- easy button.

    Super excited!!

  • The photographer we chose is, I think, decently priced.

The creative session, which included basically 4 full hours of shots of DD alone and of our new family, was $150. She'll include 35-40 of the best photos in an online viewing gallery. Additionally, we can order a low resolution CD for just $25 (she raised the price of that to $100 since we booked her, but we get the lower price). If we want rights to print a photo (which we will for our birth announcements), it's $50 per photo. Then, of course, we can order through her al la carte - single prints, albums, etc.

  • You're going to get a lot of different answers here some pricing varies by area. I charge $200 and that includes the in-home session (usually about 3-4 hours) and $100 print credit.

  • Our photographer is VERY reasonable. She charges $50 per session and that includes the sitting fee and a CD with the images on it.

Also, since we have worked with her several times already (engagement, wedding, maternity) she is going to make the 90 minute drive to our house to do our newborn pictures.

  • I am doing the first year package.  It includes 4-5 sessions, 8x10 from each session and a memory book after the first year.  They ask that you purchase something after each session (like I wouldn't), and their basic package which includes a lot is only $50.  I will probably also pay to get the CD with rights, which is another $75.  So $125 or so each time.

I've had a boudoir session, my wedding, family pics, and maternity pics all done by these people.  I love their work.
