July 2011 Moms

non clicky poll What song are you embarassed to admit you like?

I know there is at least one. I used to like the free credit report.com commercial music.

Womanizer by Brittney Spears. I don't know why I feel like I shouldn't like it so much.

  • Brass Monkey by the Beastie Boys!  When I was 4/5 my great Aunt took me and my Mom to the Philly Zoo and Dance Party USA was there and they played this song.  I was on Dance Party USA (me & my Mom were dancing way back behind the crowd) and then I bugged so much that my Mom went out and bought me the cassette tape of Licensed to Ill . . . I think I had about 3 cassette tapes of it and two CD's that I wore out :).

  • My nanny listens to Justin Bieber and so DS is now singing Baby.  I'll admit, its adorable, but I'd never listen to it on my own, I swear.

  • I love Backstreet Boys "I Want it That Way" - it's so fun to belt (Tell me Wha-YEE?)

And I am entirely too old to like it. They were popular when I was in college/out of college. Lame.

  • Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice.  Everyone always laughs about what a stupid song it is, but secretly I love it.

Party in the U.S.A by Miley Cyrus- I only love it because DD#1 will stop whatever she is doing if it comes on to come dance with me.  Otherwise, I'd hate it.

Anything by N*SYNC or Backstreet Boys

Oh gosh...my college roommate and I used to have a little dance we made up for this song.  It was our study break song.  I'm lame.

  • My ipod alternates between NPR, uberhip Alt / Indie Rock, Planet Money and This America Life podcasts and.... really ridiculous tear in my beer country. Blake Shelton and Dolly Parton are my favorites. And Miranda Lambert and Tim McGraw. Garth Brooks even pops up on my playlist for running and believe me, I am not proud of that fact. The more out there the better. So I have an entire genre, not just one song.

After reading that HS GTKY thread, I have surmised that I am also on the Old As Sh!t train. I did not even have the heart to respond.

Maybe we need to form our own group.

  • Current "Somebody to Love" Remix by Usher and Justin Bieber Embarrassed

All time...that "we don't have to take our clothes off" song.  I danced to it as a kid all the time, even though I really didn't know what he was talking about.  My mom has a beta tape of me jamming to it in the living room.

This.  I was obsessed with N*Sync back in the day, and if a song comes on the radio, I get waaay to into it.  Also Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.

  • gangsta rap- Notorious BIG, etc...  the lyrics awful are all about guns, killing people, money and sex... so I should hate it but I always turn it up when I hear it... oh well.
