Babies: 9 - 12 Months

do you ever wake a sleeping LO during the day?

Do you ladies ever wake up LO from naps so that you can get to places on time -- i.e. church, social events, etc. I never wake LO, even if it means I am going to be seriously late. Sleep is just too sacred for me :P No judgment here, just curious what other parents do.

  • yes, i wake her if we need to go some where or if she has already slept a long time so that she will still go to sleep on schedule that night. A little nap is better than no nap.

  • I'll wake her up if we have some where to be.  She usually falls back asleep in the car if she's really tired.

  • Yes, if we have to be somewhere. I try to plan the day accordingly, but not too strictly. I think she needs to learn how to adapt and not get freaked out if we aren't on her "schedule".

  • He rarely takes naps, but if he does and it goes over an hour, I wake him up.

  • Yes, I have no choice, I have to wake him up to go pickup DS at school

  • Only if I have to. I hate waking her up since naps are hard to come by these days, but it seems we always have to be somewhere.

  • I only waker her if she is going on a 3 hr nap. When it comes to appts and what not I schedule them around nap times and if we are late to a social gathering oh well. Both my girls thrive on thier schedules so going off schedule is not an option in our house.

If I have a doctor's appointment or something of that nature, yes. Otherwise no, I let him sleep as long as he wants/

I guess I would say this is me as well. I definitely try to schedule stuff around LO's nap schedule but it doesn't work 100% of the time.

  • I do sometimes wake DD up if we have somewhere to be that we need to be there at a certain time (church, an appt, etc). I hate to do it, but I also figure a little nap is better than none.
  • I'll wake him up if we absolutely have to be somewhere (i.e. doctor's appointment, church). I try to plan the day around his naps, though.

  • Nope. Sleep is sacred here, too. We have never woken either boy for anything! It's just not worth it.
